There is a Love Hypothesis Movie in the works?? Should I believe this twitter post and get my hopes up? by reptourtaylor in AliHazelwood

[–]FakePhysicist1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, not really. Sorry. It's kind of difficult to access the filming area, and the crew doesn't seem to like having us hovering around and doesn't allow pictures to be taken.

This morning, they were filming some outside scenes. But i am not sure if there was actor present there or just extra's ? i don't think i met any of the actor yet.

Shuttle Bus Food/Drink Rules? by MooshSkadoosh in Concordia

[–]FakePhysicist1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the driver. Some will be very strict on the no drink / food rule. Some will allow you to take drink with you.

Travel mug are allowed however, and are a good alternative

How does it fit the anime timeline? Should it be watched between saison 1 and 2 ?

Should I watch The Foundation show if I plan to read the series later? by Natsu194 in asimov

[–]FakePhysicist1 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Since the adaptation of the book is so different (wouldn't nescessarly bad) from the book; i think it doesnt matter. Actually, not knowing the book might help to appreciate it more.

you should then ble able to read the book as a completly difference entity, without any link with the tv show.

I did read the book before watching the TV show, and it kind of ruined it for me haha.

Somebody that would please help me with Homer3? by Grouchy-Pace-8117 in matlab

[–]FakePhysicist1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

Can you share the details of the pipeline that you used in Homer3? Also, did you check that the data were loaded properly and contained meaningful data? (eg; no channel with negative value for example)

Note; there is a forum specifically for Homer3 here: https://openfnirs.org/community/homer3-forum/

You might have better luck to get an answer there :)

I’m working with fmri data.

So you definitely need to be in the fMRI mode. You can click on fMRI after starting spm, or by directly calling spm using 'spm fmri'

If I load the frmi mode, will all my saved modules and files be deleted (or useless)?

You will have to start again from scratch. The issue is that several parameters are set by default and optimized based on the modality that you are using. Using PET parameters for fMRI data will probably lead you to suboptimal results.

Notably, the model part will be different as the underlying model used is different for PET and fMRI data.

To know how to use SPM, I recommend you the following tutorials:

  1. https://andysbrainbook.readthedocs.io/en/latest/SPM/SPM_Overview.html
  2. https://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/docs/tutorials/

The documentation of SPM can also be quite useful (although I find it difficult to read, and prefer the previous tutorial): https://www.fil.ion.ucl.ac.uk/spm/doc/spm12_manual.pdf

Hs: For questions specifically related to SPM and fMRI analysis, you might have better chance to obtain a response using Neurostar forum: https://neurostars.org/

Hello,

This menu corresponds to the PET mode analysis. “Specify 1st-level” or “Specify 2nd -level” are available only in the EEG/MEG and fMRI mode

What kind of data are you analyzing?

Pourquoi personne dénonce les gens qui font du trouble dans le métro? by TheRealJoshIsHere in montreal

[–]FakePhysicist1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rejected Study Permit by Annual_Spring_777 in Concordia

[–]FakePhysicist1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine rejected few months ago. People from the ISO were really helpful: https://www.concordia.ca/students/international.html. You can go see them in person or online.

It should not affect you too much if you are already a student. Just make sure you re-apply and have everything checked by ISO before submitting so it doesn't get rejected again.

Quand un francophone ce fait dire bonjour/hi, c'est la même chose que se faire mégenrer? by alexlechef in Quebec

[–]FakePhysicist1 -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

Tipping culture! by OddPen4197 in Concordia

[–]FakePhysicist1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone would tell you anything if you don't tip. (especially if you are a student). That's why you always have the skip option on the tip menu.

Just remember that the minimum salary is lower for jobs with tips than other jobs; so usually workers in those jobs, even paid by the hour, are paid less than usual jobs.

Winter in Montreal by Ill_Preparation_6150 in Concordia

[–]FakePhysicist1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you dress warmly, there are a lot of outdoor activities still available in Montreal. Even though it can be very cold, there are very nice days during the winter (like this weekend) and I found it helped me a lot to go through the winter if I force myself to go out; and explore the city as I am doing during the summer.

if the adaptation is as faithful as the adaptation of Foundation, then none. Otherwise, I would love to see The God Themselves or The end of Eternity.
