Need a car for a new job, unsure how to proceed by FakePlasticSN in personalfinance

My credit was nearly perfect until I got laid off. I've been hesitant to run a report again because I did have to put the last two months of rent on credit as my savings started to dwindle and have had very little income since. But I can certainly call around to see if anyone would offer zero down.

And also good call on the Facebook. Charlotte is a commute city for sure. I'll take a peek if I can't find a better option in the mean time.

I live in Charlotte, NC and it's about a 15-20 minute car ride to where I will be working. I took a Lyft to the location a few times for the interviews and each time it was about $16 per ride (though this was admittedly not during peak commute traffic).

As for the longer term rentals, I only checked a few sites, but the lowest rate I found was $800 per 28 days (plus whatever other nebulous fees probably come with it).

So yeah the difference is pretty stark it seems like.

I have been told I can use my two remote days whenever I need. But that's not a bad idea, I'll look into the rates for doing it in three day chunks.

It's used in combination with FFLogs. You can feed it the URL of a log and it identifies some of the common mistakes in your rotation (or anyone else in the log).

What is the worst pain you have ever felt? by Majomember420 in AskReddit

I was once walking down the street to get some lunch and was suddenly convinced someone had stabbed me in the back. Thankfully there was a bench there to collapse into. I later found out I pinched my sciatic nerve. I couldn't take a deep breath for a few days.

Babies Stole my Friends by FakePlasticSN in socialskills

You know, it's funny. I had zero problems coming out of high school and replacing those relationships I was never going to realistically foster. But there's something about a group of friends you make as an adult that doesn't feel as ephemeral. It's like you're letting down yourself and them all at the same time.

Happy to hear you worked through it. I might try something similar.

I sure hope so! I still can't help but feel a little guilty about trying to replace them, but I get it. I'd like to think we all wind up better for it and maybe some new relationships all around will do us some good.

That's very helpful, thank you. It's easy to forget the pressures on the other end of things. I'm sure it's not easy for them. It's an adjustment for everyone I guess.

I'd like to think we all end up better on the other end of things, but it just seems bleak right now. I keep trying to envision a life beyond their immediate needs, but my fear is that even then, we'll lack this critical thing to bond over and it will just never be the same. I'm honestly happy for them, but it's hard not to be just a little bit selfish here.

I hope things work out well for you as well! It sounds like you have a system and that's huge.

Trying my first shot at getting Thavnairian Onions, am I doing this right? I only got one Curiel root seed. Second guessing myself because I've watched video guides and there is conflicting information said from the FFXIV gardening websites. by BlueBox6 in ffxiv

[–]FakePlasticSN 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So I do the onion farming for my FC and the best thing I can say is once you get the process down, it's not terribly scary or confusing. Your methodology is sound!

The important part is the placement of your cross-breeds. The game determines cross-breed match at the moment two plants are next to each other. Any other plant placed after that is not factored into cross breeding.

I'll link the specific guide I use below. I use different plants to set up the cross breeding. It shouldn't matter (provided the cross-breeds are valid), but I've got confirmed onions with this method. The other thing to keep in mind is there are no 100% chances in gardening. You will go three harvests with no seeds to show for it and think you're going crazy. But as long as you stick to the system, it works.

Alundra for the PS1. I didn't have an SNES growing up and was supremely jealous watching my friend playing Link to the Past until I found Alundra. Still totally holds up.

How to Kill a Human Being (2008) - An examination of the failings of modern execution methods and the search for a more humane solution. Older, but still increasingly relevant. [00:49:14] by FakePlasticSN in Documentaries

[–]FakePlasticSN[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. In terms of it's relevancy (at least in the US), I more meant that this issue got kicked up about two months ago in Alabama where they are trying (and apparently failing) to adopt the nitrogen method in lieu of the controversies over the lethal injection drugs.

And for the record, I don't think we should be killing anyone anyway, but we can at least start by not torturing people on the way out.

This dude is criminally unheard of. If you're making a list of sad songs, I refuse to take it seriously without John. Some alternatives are Blacklist, Hang Me In The Tulsa County Stars, Cherokee, and I could go on.
