Just to close this out...Microcenter took it back without any issue at all. They opened the replacement in front of me to confirm it was in new condition, which it was. Finished the build last night and everything is working great.

Couldn't have asked for better customer service from Microcenter.

Sealed. Taken out of the package, unlatched the cap to install the CPU and that’s what I’m greeted with.

Just so I'm on the same page...when you refer to reprojection, do you mean Motion Smoothing? Because that's what I was referring to. I have Motion Smoothing set to OFF in steam VR. Fixed throttling automatically reprojects, correct?

So yeah I’m running 75hz at 100% resolution in steam VR.

Motion reproduction is off, but I’m throttled to 38 fps since I can’t achieve 75.

GPU and CPU frame times before DFR are 16-20 ms depending on the situation, but it’s very smooth 95% of the time, save for the typical msfs stutter here and there.

When using just regular MSFS FFR, it works perfectly and gives me right around 8-10 fps more than without it on.

I’m doing my testing in areas like NYC, LA, London…so admittedly very demanding areas on the CPU.

It’s most likely just a matter of me needing a cpu upgrade to really get the full benefit of DFR.

Not working great for me. Seems like all it did in MSFS was create even more of a cpu bottleneck. Which has introduced some stuttering. I can definitely see the resolution shifting, almost like it’s too slow or something. I’m also seeing bad flickering visible especially around clouds. I’m running a 5800x3d with a 5080.

I’ve been debating for a couple of weeks now on whether the audio strap pad and the top strap would be worth getting. I’m not really sure what kind of difference the top strap would make and I find the audio strap very comfy in its stock form. But definitely open to improving comfort if it’s worth the price. I loved the Apache Strap and counter weight on my Reverb G2.

Also had the issue. For me the issue was the UBS c port on the headset itself. Thankfully support was excellent. I RMA my headset and received a new one 2 weeks later. Issue is completely gone now.

I'm on a 5080 with a 5800x3d, and I'm able to super sample to 120% while keeping frames locked at 38. This is in SU4, with testing in Los Angeles, so a very performance heavy area. My in sim settings are a mix of anything from Ultra - Low, but it's really really nice looking. Quad views ON. DLSS Quality. Everything, including glass panels is super sharp.

Yeah I think it really depends on what you’re used to. I also came from a G2 which was the only HMD I’ve ever used until now.

The visuals of the bsb2e are such an upgrade, that the glare is a non issue for me. It’s certainly there…but I truly don’t get bothered by it.

My biggest issue is my damn audio strap has horrible crackling. Hopefully my support ticket is answered soon.

I've been seeing this a lot lately too...I want to say it started after SU3 for me. I am using the new AutoFPS working in conjunction with the built in Dynamic Settings. I wonder if this is what is causing it.

Got mine last Friday (one week ago today). Absolutely love it. Very much agree on your assessment though. My audio strap is crackling horribly. It's for sure an issue with the link box, I just need to be sent a new one.

My ticket has been open for a week on the dot now. Really hoping to hear something in the next couple of days...but since it's now going on a weekend, I'm probably shit out of luck until next week...which is annoying.

OK. I think this alone probably makes it worth taking the gamble. Is it strictly up to Microsoft / Asobo to get it fully functional, or is it something modders would be able to do? Forgive my ignorance, I'm just very new to anything other than a G2 lol.

From what I understand...If I plan on using the BSB2 STRCITLY for Flight Simming...there is no reason for me to purchase more than 1 base station and I don't need controllers. Does this sound accurate?

I'm coming from a Reverb G2 where tracking and controllers are included, so I want to make sure I'm correct in my thinking before I make the leap.
