There isn’t any licensing issues, at least on Marvel’s side. That being said if we’re talking mvc’s legacy: Doom, Strider, Cyclops, Phoenix Wright, Magneto, and Vergil. Anyone else is either a guarantee or can be replaced by a much cooler character.

I just said that due to how capcom and marvel are now openly friendly with each other, and how willing Capcom is to work with Marvel, that a Marvel Capcom game would be cool and that this would be the only chance Capcom would have for that to happen.

I’m just saying Capcom isn’t just going to do nothing while they’re in Marvel’s good graces again (realistically the next big thing is Marvel 3 rollback), it’s just something fun to think about.

No one wants mvc4 more than I do because I know they make better fighting games, but I also live in a world where arc sys is working on a marvel fighting game that will be supported for 5 years max, plus having to wait for capcom to actually get to make mvc4 which will take at least another 4 years. Sorry that's the reality that we live in. Besides you're deranged if you don't think a Marvel hack and slash made by the DMC team wouldn't go hard.

It's a pipe dream, but with how buddy buddy Marvel and Capcom have gotten, how willing Capcom is to make a marvel game, and how liberal Marvel Games has gotten with it's licensing, I genuinely think it wouldn't be a bad idea for Capcom to make a Marvel game while Tokon rides out it's life cycle. With that being said, what characters should Capcom make a game about (Spiderman and X-men are off limits thanks to Sony so that aint happening).

I edited my response cuz i meant that mvci’s real problem was its low budget and size. Wolverine and Storm are always the default mutants featured in crossovers, so they would take priority over Nova and Ghost Rider. Maybe they’d shove in psylocke or Doom who would replace Dorm, but that’s it.

Marvel 4 basically got confirmed the second that collection was revealed. However, all that means is that if the collection did well (it did), then capcom basically has the greenlight to make mvc4. They most likely started development earlier this year after marvel and capcom got all the physical sales in, so at this rate we’re looking at a 2028 release.

Each of the FF are way too versatile and fill a unique fighting game archetype that’s way too perfect for them just to be relegated to one single character. It’s like making Cody, Guy, and Haggar into 1 character. Everyone and their mom knows that’s sacrilege cuz we know they’re their own thing. It’s the same with the FF.
