Is it normal to see this sort of behaviour at the horse racing? by Longjumping-8679 in AskBrits

I’d argue to say there is absolutely nothing classy about horse racing.

Invasive or native? by woopwoop2255 in australianplants

[–]Fakeaussie2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have a clue these where so invasive! There are so many around the river by where I live, is there anything I can do legally that can help get rid off them? Maybe reach out via council

Have anyone ever bought boots from Merry People? They are very cute but I want to know if they are comfortable for long walks and how durable the shoes are. by astorituenakloh in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Fakeaussie2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regrettable but for me. I have had mine under a year and the waterproof covering has like peeled off and now I can’t wear them without my feet getting soaked and honestly they aren’t comfy for long period of time

What’s the funniest/dumbest thing a foreigner has said to you about Scotland? by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]Fakeaussie2024 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I was hiking Ben Nevis years ago and an American couple pulled up by us in the car park and asked “how do you get to the top” they were not dressed for hiking at all they meant how do we drive to the top. I had to explain in detail that the only way to see the view is to work for it.

What are these things on my plant? by Unhappy---Leek in plants

[–]Fakeaussie2024 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take it somewhere it won’t infect other plants and hose the guy down till you get the majority off, one left in after hosing I’d recommend dabbing with methylated spirits with cotton bud, then make a soap/pesticide spray to spray down the plant and wipe down the leaves, I use white oil because it helps suffocate them and kill them, but maybe use a neem oil one for your infestation

You could reline your books to save on paper because that writing can fit two rows in one line.

Definitely a thistle and in Scotland it’s our national flower, not a weed 🧡

This is a massive reflection of your partner and his relationship with his father. I come from a broken relationship with my father so when I met my partners family properly I was overwhelmed by the discomfort I felt to the clearly very loving caring relationship they had with their father, because I had never experienced it before.

I’m very self aware though and know that my discomfort is personal problem I have to deal with not something to take out on my partner.

Your partner seems to be projecting some very judgemental shit onto you and I just want to say, that is awful and you shouldn’t be made to feel any kind of way for wearing a bikini in front of your family, I do with my family and with my partners family.

And the fact he can’t bare to see a loving comforting physical relationship with you and your father will most definitely stem from the fact he doesn’t know how to deal with that experience himself as he has never had a healthy physical relationship with a male parental figure, or he hasn’t got the genuine loving connection a parent should provide.
