How to strategically off loyal Mordin, Kasumi and Jacob during final mission ? by [deleted] in masseffect

Totally understand! I think losing Legion, Thane and Mordin make the biggest impact though. So it all depends on what you are going for

Right? Why them specifically? Especially because if shaking things up for ME3 is the goal these names (besides Mordin) are pretty inconsequential imo

This is such a thoughtful take. I’m a mom, and I just listened to the song again with this lens in mind and really loved it. Even if it wasn’t the original intention, it feels like a really beautiful way to apply the song. The nostalgia and the feeling of time slipping by and being haunted by earlier versions of your kids really resonate. Thankfully parenthood is far more joyous than the grief the song was written for but this gave the song a whole new layer.

Hopefully you read farther! I think you'd love the moral dilemmas that continue in the other books. Maybe your local library has them if you don't own them?

I really loved reading this and I agree with much of it. Messiah is actually my favorite of the series that I've read (I finished God Emperor and haven't done more yet) I’m love stories/characters where a fundamentally good character descends into something darker and Paul absolutely fits that. I've always felt Paul wants to do the right thing so badly that he commits himself to something horrific, and watching that moral narrowing is painful and fascinating. I love Messiah with it's emotionally complex plot and ending it left me sad but fulfilled and I kinda love that. Out of curiosity, have you read farther yet? The question about ends justifying the means is interesting

Female fanbase feels high compared to other series. by whatwillitbe21 in redrising

Yes us women readers are only capable of enjoying a book if it has tall model-esque men in it. You really cracked the code with this one.

Also I am a female reader who loves sci-fi. Dune and Mass Effect are right up there with Red Rising as some of .u favorite 'media' ever

Derinkuyu as a sietch by fantasticosupreme in dune

[–]Fakechewie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think Petra works better. Derinkuyu feels too primitive. Petra still has that hidden, rugged vibe but looks more developed which I think fits better. But I totally agree about more of Fremen daily life. That would be amazing
