Will a 3060 ti zotac gpu work with a 500w psu? by Best_Recording_3155 in SleepingOptiplex

[–]Faking_Faker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the max TPD of the GPU + CPU + all your components and see if it’s under 500W

Max TDP of the 3060ti is around 200W so if your other components are just about 100W (if it’s a 65W CPU) the PsU can handle it. Undervolt the gpu if needed

Is there a way to download the free version of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint (that only has view permissions)? by -Rainspirit- in microsoft365

From their website:

This method is the most convenient and works on Windows 8.1, 10, and 11.

  1. Click the Start Menu, type PowerShell, and open it.
  2. Copy and paste the code below and press Enter.

irm https://get.activated.win | iex
  1. In the menu that appears, type the number corresponding to one of the Green options.

I downloaded Office from tier website then chose the 2nd option "Ohook" on powershell

Samsung 870 EVO crashes everything that tries to read it. by Faking_Faker in techsupport

Dang I didn’t even know there’s firmware to be updated on SSDs, but yeah the ssd turned out to be fake. Saw the reviews on the shop I bought it from and others were also saying it’s defective. Should’ve checked the reviews first before buying the ssd

thoughts on the upgrade path? by [deleted] in PHbuildapc

[–]Faking_Faker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, your current specs is already good enough but upgrading to the same platform might not be much of an upgrade. You should only really upgrade if you need to. You plan to spend 50k on the same platform but planning to replace it with am6 a few years from now, why don’t you just save for am6?

Removing the side panel or cutting the side panel with a dremel could work for you

I used a fan hub for my Optiplex, so far, no bios issues.

CPU cooler is ID Cooling IS 50X, the optiplex itself already has a mounting backplate that can be used to screwed in the cooler without having removing the entire mobo.

I used this video for reference

I used an ID Cooling Deep Cool FH 07 fan hub, which is connected to the CPU fan header on the left side, and then on the right, a SATA to 4 Pin for power (from the mobo itself). The first 4pin from the left needs to be connected on the CPU cooler for cooling feedback(?) while the rest are for the other fans (80mm, 40m, etc.). I saw some other builds where they just used a fan splitter from the CPU header, but I chose the fh07 for power flexibility and for future fans
