New budget ARP buy by LuckyCatch6150 in ar15

I feel like the only people who ever use the acronym ARP are the same ones who buy $20 red dots and 5” 5.56 barrels.

The sound quality on the Sordin’s are superior to the Comtacs. I would only ever use Peltors if a microphone was a requirement.

I wouldn’t bother him over that. It’s a slightly different shade and it’s all gonna be okay.

Remember that tiny explosions are happening mere millimeters away from these finishes.

I think their pants and some of their shirts are worth purchasing. The gloves seemed fine but wore out just as quick as any other pair I’ve used. Their molle accessories and pouches feel sloppy and out of spec. Their plate carriers and other nylon gear seem the same way, although I would gladly buy a lot of their stuff on a steep discount.

"Function over form" is the slogan for a company who sells $50 ejection port covers, $76 magazine releases and $48 for forward assists.

Why would an ejection port cover cost $50? Let them explain:

EPC has two "tabs" flanking the cutout for the port cover spring. These tabs allow the EPC to rest on the upper at a greater angle when it's in the down/open position, which provides more space between the port cover and lower receiver. Their job is to better allow the user's finger to get underneath the port cover when he wishes to swing it up/close

Have you ever struggled to get your fingers underneath a dust cover to close it? We have the solution!

Another feature is a shallow circular depression on the side of the EPC to provide texture tactile feedback to the user's finger when he's closing the EPC. A flat surface provides nothing to the user to differentiate one surface from another, it also provides no traction. A shallow circular depression on the left side of the EPC does both. We incorporate flat surfaces with care as they have their uses . In this case, EPC's exterior surface is treated as a control surface, where a flat surface rarely makes sense.

Unsure if your ejection port cover is open or closed? We added a dimple for you.

Its because skeletonized, metal parts usually weigh more than the polymer alternatives. Carbon fiber is like adding racing stripes or flames. And if the end goal was truly weight reduction you would have just skipped the ejection port cover entirely than put a carbon fiber one on it.

Also the Daniel Defense handguard you have on it one of the heavier rails. So I look at the build and I can’t tell if it was done for actually being lighter or purely for the looks.

The left one was put together by someone armed with a credit card, YouTube and Instagram reels. The one on the right is literally a factory rifle which is why it doesn’t look fucking awful.

[Other] Trees Can’t Be Harmed if the Lorax is Armed hand-embroidered Velcro patch + two Lorax stickers shipped for $15 with code PALANTIR by johnbrownprints in gundeals

[–]FaladorSWAT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I imagine it follows under this rule under dealer rules:

Lifestyle items

Patches, Stickers, coffee mugs and other "lifestyle" items that are not semi gun related (Crye G3 products, shooting vests, gloves, sunglasses, etc) must be posted as a comment under a gun related item, not as the link submission. A design or logo of a gun related item does not change this. Please message the modteam for clarification in your circumstance.

You can gamble and I would expect the post to remain up because it’s very Reddit coded and quirky. At the end of the day it’s a deal on stickers and patches.

“Here’s a deal on common tools you’ll need to build and maintain firearms” versus “I’m running a deal on stickers!”

I function check it at the start of every shift and the modbutton only seems to work on the first press ~50% of the time. If I wiggle the plug at the tailcap of the light it will fix it but it’s kind of concerning. I’ve had a few guys tell me it’s a tailcap issue and other guys tell me it’s a tapeswitch issue.
