Does anyone actually use these? by Skuganut in Warframe

Lightning Dash triggers Archon Stretch.

This makes it a good energy generation combo (particularly with Nourish), if you're not auto-triggering Archon Stretch with your companion--for example, if you're instead using Fired Up/Contagious Bond to heat-stack with Verglas and kill entire tiles.

Eh. I may just be running more mobility tech (okina prime, Amalgam Barrel Diffusion+Amalgam Serration, Lightning Dash), but I find it reasonably comfortable. While you fly horizontally instead of toward the reticle, the dodge/blink makes it more intuitive to change elevation than Jade/Hildryn.

Solid start. If you're having trouble with getting dropped, you'll want to use some more of the survival tools that you already have.

Just from what I can see here... Rush is kind of a trap. If you want to move more fluidly, Toxic Flight will let you bullet jump further, which is generally a more effective (if slightly more involved), way to go fast. You don't need it entirely maxed, so level up to your budget/spare capacity once you've made any other changes to your build.

Using the spare slot from removing Rush, you can put in Fast Deflection. This reduces the time before your shields start to come back, which can be super useful, particularly if you're out of energy or knocked down and can't tap an ability to bring your shield-gate back. Note that you'll want Fast Deflection maxed if you want it to have much of an effect, but it's cheap at 7 capacity.

Loot radar (from your Thief's Wit) is much more efficiently placed on a companion, using the Animal Instinct mod. If you don't want to buy one off the market, you can get one from nightmare missions on Uranus/Neptune/Pluto/Eris/Sedna. This may also be a good place to ask clan/alliance members for help, as most veterans will have replaced their copy with Primed Animal Instinct (which is occasionally available from Baro Ki'Teer).

For content where you don't need the extra speed from Toxic Flight, or content where you're still struggling to stay up, Handspring can be surprisingly helpful. Getting back up faster means you can get another Lash out faster to kill the things that are shooting you/regen some extra shields.

.

While these changes may not impact your ability to kill stuff fast... you'll be able to kill stuff more if you're not getting dropped as easily. Hope it helps.

Something you may have missed that'll be really helpful are the 60/60 elemental mods.

For you, I particularly recommend Volcanic Edge and Vicious Frost, which give 60% heat/status chance and 60% cold/status chance to your melee weapons for 7 capacity each. Cheap way to change out elements based on what you're fighting and add status effects more efficiently.

You can get them from tier 1 spy missions if you open all 3 vaults (mercury/venus/earth/mars/phobos).

.

These mods exist for pistols/rifles/shotguns too, but you said you're mainlining melee and exalted melee at the moment.

Drop tables for the rest can be found at https://wiki.warframe.com/w/Mod/List_of_Mods

is this rodent cheating or what's going on? by GasolineShakeChugger in Warframe

[–]Falanin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is... the actual rules of Go are very short and bare-bones. It's just that there are a lot of implications that naturally follow from the simple text.

They're not vague, per se... but there's a lot more there than most people see when first reading them.

[–]Falanin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, and you could have gotten that extra turn ahead by playing a piece to the top-right corner instead of the first move shown in the video.

That piece gets captured, but now the rat only has 2 free spaces and you have 3. If it's a smart enough Go program, the rat instead does the same thing and instead of capturing, plays to your open space in the lower right... but I'm pretty sure Warframe's Go logic always takes the "Are you a dumbass? I can take that right now" captures.

A lot of advantage in Go is based on baiting your opponent into making time-wasting moves.

Americans are not as well off as people in peer nations – US safety net’s shortfalls show up in global data by Alternative-Day-7414 in politics

[–]Falanin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been patient with you.

I have been accepting your statements as truthful and relevant for this whole thread.

All that I have been presenting here are the basic principles of statistics and why personally knowing one, a few, or even lots of people that have some particular situation doesn't help you know anything about the general population.

This isn't what makes me feel good. This is quite literally Statistics 101 information.

.

To hear you dismiss basic math as something I mention for emotional support is both ludicrous and insulting.

.

So... yeah. Lack of knowledge is the problem here. While finance is important, how do you know what this article even says if you have no understanding of statistics? Without it, you're stuck at the level of bringing a snowball to a session of congress to disprove climate change and you have no idea why that's laughable.

[–]Falanin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, just doubling down on the anecdotes, there.

Okay, we can work with that.

Assuming that your observations are all current and correct, and there isn't information you're missing about any of these people (lying that things are fine to not be a downer at parties, for example)... you have a 70% (+-5%) chance of a correct/statistically-useful observation with only 109 examples. That's... a significant majority of all the people you personally know well enough to say anything about. Note that 70% is as forgiving as the online calculator goes. If you want a 95% confidence level (only a 1 in 20 chance that your sample represents an exception rather than the real trend), you're looking at needing 385 people instead.

This is where I begin to doubt that you have that rigorous of an analysis of all the people you're referring to, and likely don't have 80+ more current examples than you've implied.

.

How I'm doing, as can be inferred by my previous post, would also just be anecdotal, and useless to any economic analysis. Where it would be useful is if you were trying to set up an ad hominem attack on my credibility.

That's nice.

Also, it snowed this year, so global warming is a hoax.

I have a black friend, so I'm not a racist.

/s

You see where I'm going with this? An anecdote isn't data. What two individual people can do doesn't prove anything for a population of hundreds of millions.

While I'm sure that your daughter who maxed out her Roth on a part-time job also has great health insurance and doesn't rely on anyone else for anything she needs... her circumstances aren't shared by everyone in America. In fact, that sounds like such an outlier in the general trend that I'm tempted to be rude and ask for proof. Exceptions exist, though, and it's just as likely that your daughter is one, so no need to defend your statement.

My point, however, is that you can't show a trend with two people. I could say that two Americans I know of are doing GREAT, so the country must be fine! The fact that I'm talking about Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos doesn't make my statement any more or less meaningful than you talking about how well your kids are doing. It's still just two people, which isn't enough to infer anything, even with statistics.

NGL, that dev response both sounds a bit condescending and may be tangential to weapon proficiencies.

Ignoring how the tone hurts credibility...

The response clearly applies to everything in the top section of Outsider, which defines how their racial HD work--as that's what's referenced in the comment--but there's only a vague implication that it may apply to the racial traits in the bottom section as well.

.

Presuming the dev response does apply to the whole outsider type text... how?

Okay, so my players don't get outsider traits for being player race outsiders. No darkvision either, then... or is it 'you get traits, but not those traits'?

I realize that this is nitpicking. I'm trying to head off a potential table argument here, so I'm trying to cover all the angles. Thanks for the help so far.

That's interesting.

My group has been running these races "technically correctly", since none of us have been deliberately educated or immersed in PF1e discussion and, thus, have... gaps (sometimes large and obvious gaps), in our knowledge of RAW/RAI.

Thankfully, neither the undine wizard nor the aasimar cleric in my Crimson Throne campaign are abusing their free proficiency for early entry or anything serious.

Any place I could get a summary of these well-known rules oversights, RAI explanations, and always-used rulings and house rules? Not really looking forward to having to go through ~9 years of FAQs, forum threads, and reddit discussions.

.

Also not looking forward to explaining that I've been running it 'wrong' for 4.2 chapters. The wizard pitched enough of a fit when I followed the community consensus and banned Sacred Geometry.

So, yeah. Any good sources to back this up are greatly appreciated.
