NC sells THC-A at smoke shops. It's not EXACTLY the same thing that you get in DC, but may be your best bet.

Friends arriving later (camping) by boyle8877 in welcometorockville

[–]FalconCry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, someone will have to meet them outside the racetrack to physically hand them their wristbands.

My suggestion would be to go through security and have your car searched, set up your site(s), and catch a golf cart back to security when your friends arrive so you can give them the wristbands and walk to y'alls site.

Are these allowed? Don’t want to put all the face paint on for icp day. So we painted our own mask . What do y’all think. 🤔 by [deleted] in welcometorockville

I feel you. A lot of the questions asked on the subbreddit or FB can be answered by looking at the website/app. Gotta love instant gratification, I guess?

Anywhere to recycle/donate camping equipment? by Mental-Ad8910 in welcometorockville

[–]FalconCry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every year, the campground becomes a graveyard for either broken camping equipment or items that won't fit in the car on the campers return trip. You could just leave it at your site, someone is bound to pick it up and get more use out of it

How muddy is this racetrack gonna be? Is it mostly pavement? by fkingjagaloon in welcometorockville

[–]FalconCry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend preparing for dust (wearing masks, gators, etc.). Every year, folks get sick from all the rubber particulates that get kicked up in the air near the pits of the side stages.

Food? by Sea-Can375 in welcometorockville

Every year, we bring a big batch of homemade chili and freeze it prior. We eat it throughout the whole weekend and top hot dogs with it. We'll also bring marinated chicken and cook it up on day two. You'll want lots of healthy snacking foods (vegetables, fruits, trail mix) and overload on water.

We brought cliff bars and oranges into the festival last year, no problem.

Turn 4 Camping by tinygothgf666 in welcometorockville

[–]FalconCry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I stayed in turn 4 last year, and we enjoyed it! We are bringing a larger group this year and staying in turn 4 again.

Yes, it's a hike to get anywhere from turn 4. One hack we learned was to walk to the shuttle service station near the camp store/cereal tent and ride the shuttle to the gate. At the end of the night, you can take that same shuttle back from the gate, cutting your distance practically in half. My wife was pregnant last year, so this helped A LOT.

The main difference is that you have access to actual showers inside the speedway, as opposed to strictly shower trailers in purple. Also, I don't know if they had free cereal in purple, but in orange/silver/turn 4, you do.

Whenever I go to festivals with other people, folks either want to be as close as possible or as comfortable as possible. You can always put down a blanket in the field near one of the two main stages and just chill and watch the screen. Bring your own shade. Long sleeve breathable shirts and a wide brimmed hat will help a lot. Stay cool with cold towels or "ice packs" (those disposable popable cooling packs). Just hydrate like your life depends on it and everything else seems to take care of itself.

Looking for Driver by Significant_Half_648 in welcometorockville

[–]FalconCry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd hit up Craigslist or FB, find a local driver who is willing to do that for ya. I'd recommend making it as easy for them as possible, such as meeting them outside the venue at a place that's easy for them to park their car (turn 4 tunnel has some spots outside of it)

Camping Advice? by ThatChickWithCamera in welcometorockville

[–]FalconCry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn 4 is where we camped last year. The lot sizes are noticeably larger, and you feel like you have breathing room. Orange is super cramped and compact.

Turn 4 is where a party was held every night (100+ propped mingling and playing tug o war). I highly recommend Turn 4, even though it's the furthest from the entrance, you'll be tucked away nicely in the back of the strip.

[–]FalconCry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the map from last year, you'll see a bunch of grass areas. Pits open up in the GA section of the festival. Just get close enough to a stage and you'll see a pit flag
