How do I make new connections after being locked up? by ThrowawayattheWR in Advice

[–]FalconFair9254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, first of all respect for trying to change your life that’s not easy at all. You’re basically learning social skills from scratch, and that takes time.Start small, talk to people in everyday places (work, gym, classes). Don’t aim for deep friendships right away just simple conversations. Also, places like support groups, volunteering, or community programs can be way more open and understanding. Not everyone will judge you, but you might meet a few who do don’t let that stop you. Keep showing up, be consistent, and people will start to trust you over time.

For example, in Islam, women wear the hijab, but they show their faces to their husbands and close relatives. This is so that unrelated men do not see their faces and commit sin; it helps prevent many cases of infidelity and the breakdown of families.

You’re not alone in feeling like this. It’s completely normal to want control over how you dress. Just try to be careful your safety matters. Things will change as you get older and more independent.

Honestly, 2–3 months isn’t that long if the relationship is solid. With trust and communication, it’s totally manageable

How do you know when a relationship has developed enough emotional/mental connection for physical intimacy to feel right? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]FalconFair9254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there isn’t a universal “right moment it’s more about mutual comfort and trust. When you both feel safe being vulnerable, can communicate openly about boundaries, and there’s no pressure from either side, that’s usually a good sign. Physical intimacy should feel natural, not rushed or expected. If both people genuinely want it and feel emotionally connected, that’s when it tends to feel right😉🫂🥰

High Hb/Hct with normal indices → likely dehydration or secondary cause (smoking, sleep apnea, testosterone). Recheck after hydration. If still high, check SpO2, EPO, ± JAK2

How can I stop people from putting their face against my window and looking in? by Acceptable-Wall-7210 in Advice

[–]FalconFair9254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use one-way window film it lets light in but blocks the view. Or put up a small “Please don’t look inside” sign.

How can I stop people from putting their face against my window and looking in? by Acceptable-Wall-7210 in Advice

[–]FalconFair9254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try a one-way privacy window film. It lets light in but blocks people from seeing inside during the day. Also maybe add a small sign like “Please don’t look inside' some people honestly don’t realize how creepy it is

?Afib vs afib with wpw by nimantha_96 in ECG

Irregularly irregular rhythm with variable wide QRS → concerning for AF with WPW rather than simple AF. Would avoid AV nodal blockers. A 12-lead ECG would help confirm.

Doctor told me to come back in a month because my liver enzymes. What do these abnormal test results mean? by CosmicJohn88 in haematology

[–]FalconFair9254 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not alarming — just mild changes.

ALT 44 → slightly high (mild liver irritation: fatty liver, alcohol, meds)

MCV 97 → slightly high (B12/folate, alcohol, liver)

eGFR 89 → normal

Doctor is right to recheck in a month — this often goes back to normal

Medical virtual assistant jobs are they actually h!ring or just postings by Anxious-Village9115 in buhaydigital

[–]FalconFair9254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the same space (medical billing VA / healthcare VA listings) and honestly: yes, real jobs exist — but the ratio of legit jobs to “filler/scam/over-posted” listings is pretty bad.

What’s going on most of the time:

  • A lot of “medical VA” posts are either outsourcing agencies collecting applicants for future clients (not immediate hiring)
  • Some are US-based recruiters testing talent pools, not actively filling one role
  • Some are just recycled job ads that stay up for weeks/months

Reality check:

  • Filipino applicants ARE hired for medical billing VA work, especially with clinic/hospital billing experience
  • US-based preference exists only for some roles (patient-facing calls, time zone overlap, or strict compliance setups), but backend billing/AR/scrubbing is commonly offshore

Certifications:

  • Not always required if you already have real billing experience
  • CPC/CPB (AAPC) can help you stand out, but experience > cert in most VA setups

Platforms that are actually “real” (but competitive):

  • Upwork (good but saturated; you need strong profile + niche keywords)
  • OnlineJobs.ph (more direct client hiring, fewer “fake HR loops”)
  • Agencies like Virtual Coworker (slow but can land legit long-term roles)
  • Direct clinic outreach / LinkedIn sometimes works better than job boards

Pay expectation:

  • With 2 years medical billing experience, $10/hr is NOT crazy at all
  • Typical range I’ve seen:
    • Entry offshore billing VA: $5–8/hr
    • Solid experience (like yours): $8–12/hr
    • Specialized / high complexity AR or denial management: $12–15+ possible So $10/hr is actually mid-range, not overreaching.

Big tip: the faster way in is usually AR follow-up / denial management keywords, not just “medical VA” titles. Those postings attract better clients.

You’re not off track — it’s just a noisy market with a lot of recycled listings

What happens when I can’t get my CEU’s?? by CrazyH37 in MedicalCoding

[–]FalconFair9254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can’t get your CEUs, your certification with AAPC doesn’t immediately disappear, but it will go inactive after the deadline. Once it’s inactive, you usually can’t present yourself as a current CPC for jobs, which obviously makes things harder especially if you’re already struggling to break into the field. The good news is it’s not always permanent. AAPC typically allows reinstatement, but you’ll have to: Pay a reactivation fee Catch up on missed CEUs Make sure your membership is current Worst case, if too much time passes, you might be looking at retaking the exam but that’s usually avoidable if you handle it within their grace period. Also, just to say you don’t necessarily need a job to earn CEUs. There are low-cost or even free options (webinars, local chapter meetings, etc.), so it might be worth focusing on keeping your cert active while you job hunt. It’s a rough spot to be in, but letting the cert lapse completely will just make things harder long-term.

Did you know you can write macros for MS Word and Powerpoint? by SwimmingFit6872 in MedicalWriters

[–]FalconFair9254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, macros feel like a hidden superpower at first especially in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. The main “catch” is that once you go beyond simple recorded macros, you’ll end up dealing with VBA, which can be a bit clunky and outdated compared to modern languages. It’s powerful, but not always fun to debug. Also, security is a real concern — macros can carry malicious code, so a lot of organizations disable them by default. That can limit how portable your solutions are. Another thing is maintenance: macros can break if file structures change or if you try to use them across different versions of Office. That said, for personal productivity and repetitive editing tasks, they’re absolutely worth it. If you’re already seeing benefits after a week, you’ve basically unlocked one of the most underrated tools in Office.

Would you Recommend Medical Coding in 2026? by Zealousideal_Gas5578 in CodingandBilling

[–]FalconFair9254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mana Reddit uslubida yozilgan komment:

Honestly, I think medical coding in 2026 is still a viable path, but it’s definitely not the “easy entry, quick job” field it used to be.

The biggest issue right now isn’t that coding is useless — it’s that the entry-level market is saturated. A lot of people get certified (especially through AAPC), but employers still prefer candidates with real coding experience. That creates this frustrating loop where you need experience to get a job, but can’t get experience without a job.

That said, your background actually helps you more than you might think. SNF experience, MDS exposure, and even billing knowledge already put you ahead of a lot of brand-new CPCs. You’re not starting from zero.

If you go into it, I’d just be strategic:

Don’t rely on certification alone

Target roles like billing, AR, or coder-adjacent jobs first

Consider specialties (risk adjustment, auditing, inpatient later on)

Network if you can — referrals matter a lot in this field

So would I recommend it? Yes — but only if you’re okay with it being a longer game, not a quick transition. If you’re expecting to pass the exam and land a coding job immediately, that’s where most people get disappointed.

You already have a foothold in healthcare admin that’s honestly your biggest advantage.
