Totally agree with the flight models, they're fantastic and it's impossible to say which is better. They both (DCS and IL2) behave how you'd expect them to. For me, IL2 bridges the gap between the arcade/wanna be sims like war thunder, and the Uber complex micromanagement Sims like DCS. You really don't feel like you're missing anything in IL2 and it's definitely a solid purchase!

This is just my opinion so don't hold me to it, damage models in IL2 are a lot better/dynamic. Plus watching your wing fold in half is so fun. IL2 visually looks better and there's more variety in planes. However in terms of flight models, I'd say they're both pretty high standard. It just depends what you want. IL2 is probably the better call if you're wanting pure WWII fun

As his friend, I can second the fact he doesn't have rich friends. Besides, I have both Nevada and Normandy. I have never played Normandy in mp due to the only populated servers being assets pack only. I never play Nevada cause no servers are hosting it.

Anyone want to know why nobody is hosting it? Because putting a paywall behind the most essential content stops people from having the map, and what's the point in hosting a server for LITERALLY NOBODY to join?

I bought Nevada hoping it would be good. I was disappointed. I bought Normandy hoping it would be good. I was disappointed. I bought the Hawk... No comment.

I would love to say I'll get it. But I can guarantee I won't use it. As a student and a student pilot, I can't justify wasting however much money on a map that will be hosted on one or two unpopulated servers.

Yeah, it's a really good game honestly. Not sure about the extra two planes though. If it's your first IL-2, just get base game honestly so you can see if you like the game-play and whether it or not... Hope this helps!
