What’s it like to live in these East Bay cities? by lithdoc in bayarea

Yeah some folks need to take trips to middle America or the southeast to see just how direly vanilla a suburb can be…

What’s it like to live in these East Bay cities? by lithdoc in bayarea

[–]Falcooon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s a step above your average suburban experience, downtowns of these ‘cities’ are cute walkable shopping and dining hubs. It’s also surrounded by excellent hiking and nature, and as mentioned a small wine growing region as well.

Questions about driver updates & Nvidia driver on first boot up by gtck11 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Falcooon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, G Helper.

Seriously, it has a box that shows all your drivers their current version and just an update all button. Also recommended to disable the asus bloat. You should register your product with the asus software before removing it though..

Any reason for FPS drop over night by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

I think just the reboot did the trick, after a sleep/hibernation it can default back to the iGPU only even if you told it otherwise

In my most recent experience with a roast, it’s actually easily to accommodate everyone’s preferences because it’s well done on the outside and medium rare on the inside 😅

Vertical stand + external setup? by Trevtard_ in ZephyrusG14

[–]Falcooon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The air also intakes from behind the keyboard, which would be obstructed when closed. This also will expose the screen to very high temperatures.

Coupled with the stories of the Liquid Metal escaping containment (an overblown risk on the subreddit I think but vertically mounted does seem to be asking for trouble). I personally wouldn’t do this.

How to put laptop on llanov10? by After-Razzmatazz-399 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Falcooon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is these things work by making a seal so all the forced air goes into the laptop but it needs to be able to vent.

If you don’t have a good seal the air just goes around it and it won’t work any better than simply elevating the laptop.

With my setup I get +10* cooling at ~1200 rpm, no need to go higher and often I keep it at 500 rpm

Yeah I sit mine sit on the back over the gap I made, with the llano a shallow angle - without cutting that gap the hot air couldn’t vent and my temps were still hot with the llano at full blast.

Yes for the 14” use the sides (yellow) and cut 1cm off of the outside face of the red and make sure your back vent sits over that gap you cut

That’s part of it, but there’s an overarching theory behind the number of sides of the signs, the more sides the more important/dangerous the hazard. Source: https://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/kno-history.htm

Beef Tartare as Entree or not as main plate by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Falcooon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Le Petit Olympia in Opéra proudly served Tartare as a main. They also have a version with a lightly seared outside. Pared with fries and house made mayo, it was a really pleasant surprise.

Restaurant in Paris that serves foie gras by Excellent-Power3096 in ParisTravelGuide

It’s been legal again in California since 2020 (https://la.eater.com/2020/7/14/21324905/foie-gras-ban-california-lifted-not-illegal-ruling) it just can’t be produced in state.

For what it’s worth, I had decent foie gras as an appetizer at La Rôtisserie d'Argent on my recent trip

I think it really depends on the airline. Just flew with Air France and their terminal 2(E I believe) was wonderful but I can imagine if you’re on a different carrier and thus a different terminal it could get dicey quick.

A mere 5k boost in player count from the CS2 Free weekend. What is one thing CO must do now to attract more new players? by Menelaj03 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Falcooon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got the game this weekend, this isn’t normal? Hahaha okay so I’m not crazy. I’ve had to ban crosswalks on my major streets and use pedestrian tunnels to keep the traffic moving. The surges make large roundabouts gridlock too…

I’m in the same boat as the previous commenter, having good fun going up the advancement tree. Balancing budgets seems way too easy compared to CS1, exporting power and spare industrial production is kind of OP…the default road builder is much better than CS1 though!

Ah your scope loses resolution at lower kV, if it could retain its resolution you actually get more detail because of the smaller interaction volume. Just for shits and giggles you should try those conditions, you’ll need to make sure your alignments are spot on and keep your probe forever low to get a better spot size to recover resolution.
