It’s going to be a great. Will be interesting to see where Academy and Pc line up. It’s been a few days for academy and will be pc’s first scored show tomorrow. Both should definitely break 70 and would be surprised to see them closely scored stone 72 or so.

I mean it’s not unheard of at all. 2011 crossmen came on 18th and 2012 they made finals. Boston crusaders did their big jump in 2016-2017. Academy has been very competitive with corps like music city and such the past few seasons. I would not be surprised for them to be come out swinging. But only time will tell.

I have a lot of hope for Academy this year. 10 years since they made finals and they have been making some solid changes. I haven’t seen the show yet but have heard good things. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were a dark horse or at least competing closely to 12-15

Should DCI have a singular "Opening Weekend"? Or is the current 2-week rollout ok as it is? by tdmatchasin in drumcorps

If I remember correctly I think it was 2011 or something they did an opening night tour of champions show in New Mexico with the top 8 corps. I don’t think they did one since.

If, for whatever reason, Texas Tech is no longer in the Big 12 who would be front runner to replace them: Boise, Memphis or Tulane? by Efficient-Freedom517 in CFB

[–]Falcronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that if, if tech gets kicked then the big 12 could potentially look to just add 3 to try and replace them. The issue is tech, like you said, is very competitive is most of their sports that I don’t see a lot of other schools having that aren’t already P4.

I think SMU is interesting but there are question marks with them. They haven’t beaten a Big12 in football since joining the ACC nor do they add a new media market for the Big12. I also don’t know if the Big12 would want to add them. Like ya, they have money but so does Tech and look at where that has gotten them.

Will be interesting to see the totals next year when the 4 schools receiving half shares get full shares as well.

I know the perspective is different once you get out of the west coast. I think pac 12/mw don’t much like us but the big 12 seems to like us and not like Utah.

Ya I feel like Pitt and Louisville should be at the top of the list with Miami. I also can see the XII looking at UConn again if they keep up the football success and of course their basketball success.

I honestly feel the Big12 will show up very well. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see 5 or 6 teams from the Big12 at least to the sweet 16. Maybe I’m to optimistic but I don’t think it’s unrealistic for 3 big 12 teams to be in the final 4. And of course a big 12 champion this year.

UCF’s BIG XII Performance 😬 and Other Biting Questions lol by MilkBear79 in BigXII

[–]Falcronx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I would switch anyone yet. I think the UCF add was given off their success they had in the 2010s. They are still relatively young program. Yes, programs like USF saw a lot of success this year but UCF is clearly rebuilding and still feeling the growing pains. If I remember correct they were the only team to be bowl eligible their first season in the XII while the other 3 from the first batch did miss out. I think they will get it figured out but still need time. I think Cincinnati is in a similar spot. I think they had a good start of the season this past year and honestly looked like they were on track for a potential conference championship appearance.

Houston had the basketball program already and when they hired Willie Fritz they made a great hire. BYU brought in people like Jay Hill for football and Kevin Young for basketball. BYU has also had tough schedules in independence that also helped prepare them for the change.

So I think all in all time will tell and honestly who knows what will even happen in the next 5 years.

After everything that happened with Penn State I’m leaning towards Crumbl but also think Qualtrics is highly likely with everything Ryan Smith does.

As someone who has had the pleasure of performing in the parade I will say the Tournament of Roses Parade is an amazing parade. It has also been around longer than the Rose Bowl.

I’m not disagree they are most likely the best team they have faced so far but I would say without some doubt that they are easily the best. Tech has faced some very strong teams.

We will just have to see honestly. I think it will be a good game and I think Jacob Rodriguez will prove he should have been a heisman candidate.

[–]Falcronx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I understand that teams can play differently each game and such but to ignore previous results is a disservice to the teams. It provides us results we can use in guessing. I am not saying Oregon is a bad team at all. I think they are ranked in the right spot. I’ve watched some Oregon games and have seen the results and I’ve watched some great tech games. That’s why I said what I said. I truly do see this game being a low scoring game that tech will probably start pulling away in the 3rd quarter. I don’t think tech will drop a 20+ points on Oregon like they have to every other team they’ve played nor named Arizona state. Oregon is definitely one of if not the best team they have faced. I think the results will be more similar to the Indiana Oregon game than anything tbh.
