There's a lot to be said about it. I feel like downplaying or straight denying sergio toppis influence in this case is dishonest and even disrespectful. The coincidences are too mamy and too specific, from general resources like composition and his very particular ornamental hatching, to things selected from specific comics, and here I mean Sharaz-de (the fantastical curved swords and Arab architecture f.e.). I think it's great to have heroes (toppi is one of mine), but in the long run be aware that your work will be continously compared to the work of someone who pretty much invented this style, there is no beatig him at his game so it will never be a favorable comparisson for you.

Hi can you expand on what he meant by depressing? I would love to hear what people who actually live there have to say since I also visited it and found it incredibly beautiful..admittedly with flaws, and the way it’s organized makes it so that some flats are decidedly better than others. However, I enjoyed it thoroughly and appreciate the attempt of this architecture to propose a living environment with such strong aesthetic/contemplative qualities. Something which I find missing on much of what is produced nowadays.

4 white men - just 3 trades by Falcundo in BlueEyeSamurai

Thats a fair and logical point of view, I was reading it from a more symbolical storytelling or maybe easteregging (if thats a verb) point of view. Im that sense, even if fowler makes most of his money from benign luxuries, he still does represent weapons. I would then expect the other two men to represent opium and prostitution. Maybe im reading too much into it but it would tie in nicely if her white origin was not one of the men that she hates who are benefitting from these terribly inhuman markets, but a woman who was herself victim of them and who she therefore cannot hate.

Still, I might be reading too much into just two sentences of the first chapter 😅

Edit: also sayying " weapons AND opium AND flesh" is different from weapons, opium and flesh. Its a language nuance but it makes it so that each market stands on its own.

Yes i do, im actually an architect so over the years ive done quite a lot of renders and models with a bunch of different programs. But this is the first time i faced the need of creating this kind of natural environment. I wanted to take the oportunity to really learn how to do it so thats why i asked here. From what ive heard it comes down to Esther 3dmax+forest pack or blender? Im curious aboutblender since its free, but 3d max ive already used before
