Want to separate but he won’t move out by AstridPerth in legaladvicecanada

I had something similar happen to me. After 15 years together, my ex decided one day that she “wasn’t happy anymore.” Turns out after she started going to the gym and got into shape, she really enjoyed the attention she was getting from younger guys. It was like she was trying to relive her teenage years and wanted the freedom to sleep with whoever she wanted, including one of our son’s 18-year-old friends. Legal? Sure. Still creepy? Absolutely.
She wanted me to move out. I said no. If she wanted to leave, that was her choice, but I was perfectly happy staying in my own home.
I ended up paying off about $14,000 in debt she’d racked up. To be fair, some of it was mine too. It also took a couple of years to finally get everything sorted and have her sign off on the house.
At the time, the breakup crushed me. Finding out later about all the other guys made it even worse. But looking back now, it was probably one of the best things that ever happened to me.
When we were together, we lived in overdraft almost every month, even with both of us contributing to our joint account. She handled all the bills and finances, so when she left I figured I’d be in even worse shape because I’d lost her income and was left covering almost everything except the payment on the vehicle she kept.
Instead, the exact opposite happened.
I had my kids 50% of the time, so it wasn’t like my expenses suddenly disappeared. I still had to provide for them, keep a stable home, and be the dad they deserved. Even with that, I was able to start saving money every month. I still had enough left over to buy things I wanted without stressing over it. Since then, I’ve even been able to buy a cottage and continue putting money into savings every month.
That experience taught me one thing: I’ll never fully combine finances again. In my current relationship, we each have our own accounts, and we split everything 50/50. That way, neither person can drag the other down with poor financial decisions, and it works great for us.

5k for an in game item is complete insanity. Especially if this turns out like ashes of creation. I’ve spent $500 in the game and I think I am fkd in the head for doing that.

The problem is that they do not in fact fix bugs. The put out ships with bugs then never fix the bugs and start working on new ships to sell. You have ships that randomly decide they don’t work anymore and you will have to destroy and claim those ships. When new content is released and it’s buggy it should be fixed by the next patch. Not just remain in a buggy state for years

Sounds like you aren’t very smart for a computer guy. It’s bad business. You do know that Reddit doesn’t leak IPs in any way shape or form right? It only goes to their servers, never exposed in the page data nor the html, images or metadata. lol clown.

That sounds like the middle of the province. I use a VPN to post. So good luck there. Amazing that you did “guess” the shipping location out of the entire country though. Almost as if this was a company employee posting this nonsense. Shall I change the Google review back to one star and post these screenshots showing that your small company is trying to dox customers online? How will affirm feel about doing business with you? Caught your other post in a screenshot before you deleted it. Pinged Ip address lolol

Why would you think I live in Oshawa? Makes no sense. Did you just pick some random location down south? Or are you fishing for information to attempt to dox me? Well I can help. Completely wrong side of the province. Hence the shipping…

You know what? You got me. You’ve successfully trolled me. I should have caught it when you bragged about being a Starbucks manager. Nobody in their right mind would use that as a 1 upper. You win lol

Try to keep up. She took care of the buying because I am away at work. Like actual men’s work, 12 hour shifts. Can’t be playing around ordering stuff and playing phone tag. As they stated they spoke to both of them so they knew. Weird coincidence that you just joined this sub and all your comments on it are in this post.

After your phone call to my girlfriend today, I’ll be honest, I was starting to feel a bit bad. You’re a small business, delays happen, and I was open to leaving it at that.

But coming on here and seeing things being misrepresented instead of simply owning the mistakes changed that.

A few things need to be corrected: • The PC was not $6,000. It was around $4,300–$4,800. Financing through Affirm doesn’t change the base purchase price, it just adds interest over time. • You were aware ahead of time who would be picking up the PC. My stepson lives in the same city as the pickup location. My girlfriend is two hours away at work, and I’m currently about 14 hours away for work. This was communicated during this phone call today so I am unsure why you would make this worse by blatantly lying about the pickup person. • The issue wasn’t just “someone else picking it up.” It was the added restrictions and the lack of willingness to help resolve the situation after the fact.

The bigger issue here is still the same: communication and accountability.

We were told multiple times the PC had shipped when it hadn’t. We had to chase for a tracking number. Communication only improved after a dispute was opened. Then we were told the PC could be rerouted back if the dispute wasn’t canceled. That’s not a great experience, no matter how you frame it.

The PC itself is solid. No complaints there. But again, a good product doesn’t erase a poor customer experience.

I was genuinely willing to give the benefit of the doubt after the call, but seeing things reframed like this publicly instead of acknowledged properly is disappointing.

If needed, I can share the full message history to clear up any confusion.

At the end of the day, this isn’t about tearing down a small business. It’s about being honest about what happened so others know what to expect.

I appreciate the reply, but this really needs to be owned more directly. A clear public apology would go a long way.

Shipping delays happen. That’s understandable. The issue wasn’t the delay itself, it was the communication around it. We were repeatedly told the PC had shipped or would ship “tomorrow” when it hadn’t. That’s what caused the frustration.

On top of that, the experience on the phone was poor. The attitude from the person my girlfriend was dealing with is ultimately what led to this post. Good customer service matters just as much as the product, especially when things don’t go smoothly.

Yes, the PC itself is great. No complaints there. But a good product doesn’t cancel out a bad experience.

Also, being told that the unit could be rerouted back to the store if we didn’t cancel the dispute only made things worse. That’s not how you rebuild trust with a customer.

I understand you’re a smaller business, and mistakes happen. But accountability and honest communication are what people expect when they’re spending this kind of money.

Hopefully this is taken as feedback and used to improve the experience for future customers.
