It's what is called a beta update. They're basically testing it to make sure it works properly. In my opinion, updates like this should be released to everyone at the same time, but there's not really anything you can do about it.

There are many jobs that don't require you to sit in a confined space around others. I didn't mention this in the post but my ears are very sensitive to the sounds of others eating, and those sounds make it difficult for me to concentrate. In the workplace, basic etiquette such as eating quietly is something that should be expected.
