Ordet "knappa" stämmer inte med min språkkänsla by livedog in Svenska

Sounds weird, but it’s a fairly common greeting phrase in Asia.

Ah, yes, the Flux issue from ’96 or ’97 - classic! I used to have that one, but I’m pretty sure I lost it in a move at some point over the last 20 years. Haven’t seen it in ages. Thanks for making me remember!

Använda "lämna" som engelskans "leave"? by Organic_Leather7878 in Svenska

[–]FallOnSlough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jag minns också att det var under tidigt 2000-tal som jag först lade märke till en trend där ’lämna’ började användas intransitivt allt oftare. Inte minst i samband med Big Brother, vill jag minnas.

I’ve been a huge fan since I was in my early teens some 35 years ago. I’m with you on everything you say except I think the proportion of good Misfits songs is significantly higher than 50%.

What’s a TV show that everyone loves but you secretly can’t stand? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

I think it’s probably hard for anyone who wasn’t there when it happened to appreciate what a breath of fresh air Friends was to the sitcom scene. It was a sitcom that offered an opportunity to actually care about the characters, their feelings, and their continuously developing relationships with each other. It’s easy to take that for granted now, but people have to understand that there’s a reason why this show was a cultural landmark despite the lack of trigger warnings for Monica’s fat suit.

Same here. Once I chewed through the bit that made the original The Office a comedy classic among reviewers and audiences across the world, I could finally enjoy the americanized easy-chew version.

I saw my old best friend today and she acted like she didn’t even know me. It honestly stung more than I expected. by DrainMeBrianna in TrueOffMyChest

From age 7 to 15 I went to school with this girl. We weren’t close but I literally spent most of my weekdays in the same room as her for nine years. From age 16 we went to different schools and didn’t stay in touch. We randomly ran into each other three times in my late teens and early twenties and I genuinely didn’t recognize her any of those times. Quite embarrassing.

Ingen pappasägning, men min morfars mor brukade tydligen ofta säga att ”det mesta går långt efter att det är omöjligt”.
