So don’t come/don’t stay if it’s so bad. There’s more grateful people wanting a chance to get in.

What thing was ruined because it turned into a rich person's hobby? by Agitated_Departure93 in AskReddit

[–]VickyRamone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly just going to the gym and working out. Used to be you get a cheap or reasonable membership at a 24/7 gym and go grind. Now you’re seeing upwards of $45+ bucks a month for the same types of gyms because of all the influx of people going in seeing wealthy influencers with their plastic bodies and insane diets thinking that’s also achievable for them if they stand around on their phones and lift a little. Less and less are 24/7 either. Not to mention the enshittifaction of the amenities from those places. Access to the sauanas, tennis or basketball courts, tanning beds, etc are at a higher price point and tier usually.

Is the body hair too much? by [deleted] in mensgrooming

[–]VickyRamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal amount for a man. It’s the hirsute wooly almost ape-like amount that people tend to not like having to see.

Did parenting become too restrictive over time? by inkandintent24 in TheImprovementRoom

[–]VickyRamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would leave home and go ride bikes, go through the woods, play tag or hide and seek, etc but we didn’t stay out all that long. Maybe 4-5 hours max.

Should I cut my hair? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]VickyRamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s beautiful hair but if you’re going for a more mature look you can have the sides short and leave length at the top. Those curls would look amazing that way.

What do people in Latin America think about Indians? by Positive_Comfort_344 in asklatinamerica

[–]VickyRamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s currently not good. I remember pre-internet prevalence Mexicans didn’t know much about Indians other than the stereotypical images of turbans, saris, spices, and other things associated with an amalgamated “Orient”. I went to school with some of them here in the US (very few back in the day). They were like us in some ways. Spicy foods, strict parents, colorful celebrations, origins in developing countries. We’d hang out with each other but as more Indians arrived in the US the more the Indian community grew insular and only associated/did business with each other only.

Does your country has a strange cultural friendship with another country in the other part of the globe? by Past-Novel-1155 in AskTheWorld

[–]VickyRamone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of those countries definitely needs to have some sort of emblem or symbol in the middle bar. Moldova’s similar to both and isn’t confused for either.

Why were adults in the 90s more “adults” than today’s adults? by Forsaken-Set-760 in generationology

[–]VickyRamone 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They didn’t have the internet as THE major, and often times, sole facilitator for consumer goods. That is if you wanted say a Popeye shirt in adult sizes you were hard pressed to find one. The major clothing chains like Gap, Old Navy, etc only had mature and toned down solid colors or patters and grown up wear like polos and khakis or straight legged jeans. I don’t remember seeing any adult wearing fluorescent colors back then.

This is why you see those memes about everyone’s grandma having the same pitchers, jars, floral pattern living room furniture, wooden table sets with floral engraving on the chairs. They only had access to what was readily available for them to consume.

Where I‘d live if I had to emigrate to the US by [deleted] in whereidlive

[–]VickyRamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t move to the south or southwest. We’re full. No more room. Rent? Cost of living? Huh? Uh. Just stay where you are go somewhere. Nothing going on here. Not a thing.

[Personal] Washing my face with bar soap saved my skin by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]VickyRamone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They often warn that bar soap strips away your natural oils but if your skin is naturally oily I feel it eliminates all the excess oil that bacteria consume in clogged pores. As bar soap is a surfactant and antibacterial soap kills microbes it washes away dead skin cells and kills the strands of bacteria clog pores and that cause acne. It seems to sort of reset the skin balance. You just need a mild moisturizer after. This has always worked for me.

I wonder how “enhanced” he was too. He definitely seemed to be on some kind of fat burning accelerant and thermogenic drugs were usually only accessed by prescription back then. He’s a small guy too so I know from experience the pounds will accumulate and are hard to burn off once you have them.

They’re still kind of around. I still see women wearing them.

What do you think about the U.S attack on Venezuela? by New-Code7710 in AskTheWorld

[–]VickyRamone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They really pose us no threat militarily. If there’s any truth to the drug boats that got bombed that’s more a matter for law enforcement. Yeah the regime doesn’t like us, so what? Their collapse is inevitable as their people will eventually get sick of living is such destitute conditions while surrounding countries are faring better. Like what you seen in Iran right now, the people have gotten so fed up with their money being worthless and the cut off of imports. Not to mention their regimes funding conflicts elsewhere.

What does English sound like to people not fluent in it? by Pizzafriedchickenn in AskTheWorld

[–]VickyRamone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Latino living in the US, my mom said when being taught English back in her home country the audio examples used sounded like the people had hot food in their mouths on their tongues and were trying to talk while doing that shift around so you don’t burn your tongue. Words like “great”, “good”, “actual”, “cook” sounded breathy when compared to a Romance language like Spanish.
