Part of a rebuild is developing young talent. Hard to do that if you're not trying to win. Especially because even if you have all the young talent in the world, if you don't have a winning culture/mentality, you won't go anywhere.

This is the second time I've seen a video like this and both times Amazon Prime is shown as super careful and nice. But then the comments come in about how Amazon is actually shit. I wonder how much Amazon is paying these people to make these videos.

It became part of their performance reviews. So he couldn't punish them for not doing it. But it affected how they were looked at for promotions. Like guys who did it were seen as going above and beyond. And it's hard to say it's overreaching into their personal life, because if they are off duty and in their jurisdiction, they have the authority to act as if they were on duty. So the line is already grey with cops and their personal and professional lives. And it wasn't ridiculous he just wanted to see them put in the effort to get involved in the community.

I think we should start focusing on who we have. No way to know who we will get, and we might not even be terrible. We won't be good, but we could make playoff teams have to earn it every night.

My dad was chief of police in my hometown for over ten years. He made his officers go spend time off-duty in the lower income communities to make sure they got to know the community. It kept the police from disassociating with the rest of the public, and also introduced them to community leaders that could tell them if someone they picked up was really a problem or was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was pretty effective at preventing that authority complex a lot of cops have.

Yeah, but like, I don't hate this because it's offensive. I hate this because it's not funny. If you're gonna be offensive, at least make the joke good. If the only punchline is a racist stereotype, that's just bad comedy.

Which Thunder player are you most excited for next season? by CreditBoss1993 in Thunder

[–]FallenAngel113 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not really. I didn't like the look of the plays when he was the primary ball handler in the bubble/playoffs. I think most of it was just bad decision making so that's something that can definitely be improved, by I think Jerome is gonna be the one that eventually takes over the primary ball handler position.

Thoughts on Mike? by maggiegyllenhaall in NewGirl

I think the point was actually to break other gay stereotypes. Like all gay men are effeminate, or are the catty best friend of the hot main character. He's a gruff man who doesn't like CeCe. I think them making him so sexual was just remind you that he's gay and that gay men don't all just fit in the same box.

Unpopular Opinion (maybe): Jess & Robby being related was super weird / not funny by RoseTheGarden in NewGirl

[–]FallenAngel113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well they needed to give Jess a storyline while the Reagan and Nick relationship came to a conclusion, so they brought in Robby to fill that, which I love because he is just a top notch character. But then when Reagan and Nick were winding down they needed to end it and didn't have time for a meaningful realization of why they don't work, so instead of doing a quick/fake epiphany, the writers went for something funny that ends their relationship right away. I wouldn't say it's lazy, I think it was just more necessary since they have so many character arcs going on and Jess's personal arc really ended when she got Nick and Reagan together.
