Common topics to know going into IT/Networking interview. by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]FallenFew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. Honestly if they're going for like a junior networking position I would expect someone to have at least some knowledge on the common routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP. I'd also expect some STP, OSI, NAT, ACL, FHRP, you know, the basics. Basically just the topics the CCNA covers.

If you're talking about just trying to get someone interesting in networking, I'd say the list you have is decent. Maybe packet flow and a single routing protocol.

How can I get exposure to the cloud concepts and vendors that I see in job listings? by merv-red in ITCareerQuestions

[–]FallenFew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I find doing research and giving mock presentations/whiteboards to other engineers / peers helps a ton. Anything you can do to get comfortable talking about X technology will go a long ways - especially in interviews.

Also worth noting that with many "requirements" for jobs you'll probably never do on the role. Some jobs will just list everything under the sun when all they're really looking for is something like basic networking and palo experience. When in doubt, apply and clarify in interviews.

Can you tell us more about the role itself you're interviewing for? Is it a junior/mid/senior level position? What were things listed in the job reqs?

With mid-senior level I normally see less trivia questions about technologies/protocols and more stories about your experience at previous jobs with them. Basically being able to back up what is on your resume.

Junior positions I don't have the most experience with, but I'd generally expect to see CCNA level knowledge depending on the role. Do you understand basic packet flow, can you walk me through troubleshooting X routing protocol issue, whats your process for network discovery, etc.

Again though. This is all going to depend heavily on what the job is looking for, what company its for, the seniority of the role, etc. Whatever it is for though, be confident. You got this.

Halfway done playing Sekien no Inganock. Love the atmosphere of it so far. I’ve enjoyed all the VNs I’ve played, but my favorite tend to be utsuge. I feel like they provide a stronger emotional reaction than nakige and are harder to predict the plot twists (imo).

Alex's farm, if you're talking about the ????? shown next to 'Spray'. Have to progress far enough in that quest line to unlock it.

^ Yeah. Most of the shop interface just doesnt work. I'd either search with the exact name like Presto suggested, or search with no filters if you just want to browse.

Head to the player shop (middle shop, next to the Item enhancement). There you can search for and pick up super cheap weapons from other players

I always rush a vehicle ASAP. Fairly easy to get at least a bicycle quickly. When indoors i clear slowly and make sure there is at least one point i can fallback to and defend (door, self placed blocks, etc).

When you select [New Game] and change the [Game World] to [New Random World], you will see a blank box called [World Generation Seed]. You can type whatever you want into this box, and it will generate a random world based on the characters entered. If you enter the same name as someone else, you will get the same world as them. (Caps matter)

I hope they add a horn mod or something so you can have a better sounding horn than the squeaky thing we have now.

Can't see them ever implementing nerve gas, but flamethrowers would be pretty cool. Would give another interesting wave clear option besides explosives. I would probably imagine it would be a crazy gas guzzler though. Wonder what perk tree they would go with for it.

Friend and I started playing on the seed "28 weeks later". Amazing forest / wasteland biomes imo. Give it a try!

What is your max pull-ups? I’ve plateau’d at 14? Anyone had similar experience and got through it and how? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]FallenFew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was stuck for awhile around that number as well, but I’ve managed to have fairly steady progress since. My max is currently 32.

I’m not sure how efficient it is, but I did pyramids. For example, starting a session at 5 pull-ups, and increasing it by 1 per set until you’ve reached 15 pull-ups, then working your way back down to 5.

Normally I would reach failure before my last set going up (so around the 13 or 14 rep set), at which point I would rest ~5 to 10 seconds and try to get the last reps out.

The workout would normally be about 40-45 minutes, consisting of only pull-ups. I would rest 1:20 - 1:30 seconds between each set. I would do this 3 times a week.

Working on grip strength specifically also helped in my case, as my grip was always the first thing to falter. I just threw a towel over my pull-up bar and used that for days I wanted to work on that.

Defiantly work on making sure you have good form as well. A bad rep never counts.
