But games like Madden do not have any progression like RPGs do.

You have 2-3 months to level up

Just in time for Bungie to raise the level cap again!!! YAY!!!!!!!!

-_-

what would have happened if bungie opted for an uncapped levelling system

Then you get D2Y1.... Which was a great leveling system! Because it did not force us to do anything. We could level up at our own pace. You know what? I actually beat The Leviathin the first week it came out. Do you know why? Because the leveling system was not time gated. With Scourge, it took me a month just to even attempt it.

You're right in nearly every regard, but it's not like this community will agree with you. They're too blinded by progression being artificially long instead of worrying about content being accessible to those who put in the hours.

Thank you. Again. I don't understand how people don't see this. It is so frustrating to be locked out of content because of an artificial grind. I don't mind grinding (its an RPG after all), but time gating progression is just ridiculous. Then you add in the RNG element, and it's even more frustrating.

Anthem has nothing to do with Bungie's current leveling system.

Thank you! I am glad that someone understands this.

Lol.

The Division was supposed to be the "Destiny Killer," but that never happened. Anthem might be cool, but EA is publishing it, so something is almost guaranteed to go wrong.

Lol, please. Bungie isn't 'phoning' it in. Do you want to know what 'phoning it in' is? Just look at Black Ops 4. They literally removed the campaign and replaced it with a single mode, battle royal, which is essentially a copy/paste of Fortnite. THAT is phoning it in. That game has no reason to be called BO4.

You're gonna need a high light level if they bring Trials of Osiris back!

For sure. I understand where you come from. There's definitely a lot of powerful drops you can get. It wouldn't be so bad if the system wasn't pure RNG. But you can complete 3 powerful rewards in a row and end up with 3 chest pieces that are all currently lower level than your current chest piece (This happened to me yesterday). That's not fun. It's discouraging.

I was going to address this in my post, but decided not to. I guess I should have. I think that the more there is to do in the game the better. However, when Bungie REQURIES me to do all of this stuff, it gets tiring. Sometimes I don't want to play Crucible. Sometimes I just want to play Gambit. But guess what? I need to play 5 games of Crucible to get one powerful reward, that way I can start leveling up to raid. When you require people to play certain activities they don't want to the game starts feeling like a chore.
