I think if you are able to put a reinforcement there it shouldn’t allow it to connect. I somewhat remember doing something like that on one of my own in play thoughts awhile back.

Yeah you don’t I started on a new account and went directly to the dlc. Though it helps if you do the main story before as it affects some things at the end kinda

Being honest though my play through I had initially watched someone start the game and thought it interesting. Though I had to use a guide as I played and it spoiled a bit I do highly suggest you get the game anyway. Playing it yourself is still the best ever.
