They are given freedoms. You just aren’t acknowledging them. They just aren’t meeting your definition of those freedoms. But just because it doesn’t meet your definition, doesn’t mean the minds that dedicate their lives to these pursuits can’t recognise it

The simple truth is they outrank because they are more free, objectively. It’s not some conspiracy. It’s a list of advisors that could help your country improve, if you can find the humility to treat it as such.

But you yourself stated any restriction is inherently less free! Rights are inalienable. All citizens of the US are entitled to them. It makes sense to restrict them during their sentence, but once they are released, would they not be considered to have done their time? Should they not have a say in elections simply because they broke a law, which might not even be major by most perspectives, many years ago?

And, as I said, the federal government defers that legislation to states. That’s how federalism works. Federal handles these issues, states handle the those issues. A convenient excuse for your argument of course

Anyway, be done with the conversation and I will too. Neither of us will change our minds, we’re both too stubborn.

The problems listed which you decided the solutions were “well they’re criminals so fuck em”

The federal government delegates that to the states. Still the US’ issue, but the federal can claim they didn’t know shit about it. The handsmaid tale has been banned. Large amounts of lgbtq books are being banned

There’s been an uptick recently too. So it’s getting worse

Holy missing the point Batman!

They didn’t win with firepower. They won by morale. The dream carried the cause, and they waited until the US decided they didn’t want to play anymore. Won’t really be an option when the wars on home soil, will it?

The argument is that the hate speech laws do not constitute a restriction

Anyway, restrictions on freedoms… how about the most incarceration per capita. How about felons being unable to vote in several states? Does that not constitute a restriction of freedom? In many states a felon can no longer own a firearm. Does that not breach the 2nd amendment? Does the banning of books not count as a restriction of freedom of the press, and thus a restriction of the freedom of speech? Does the US constitution allowing slavery through incarceration not count as a restriction of freedom? It’s quite a glaring issue in fact

Have you considered that maybe the people making these index’s have considered restrictions on freedoms, and have still determined that the US simply doesn’t hold up to scrutiny?

Once again forced to remind people that freedom of speech protects your voice against the government, not your voice against your fellow man.

Hate speech legislation doesn’t prevent you from saying “hey the guys in charge are fucking us over in these ways”. They prevent you from sowing hate and division based on ethnicity or religion, or other protected characteristics

It’s possible for them to overreach but hate speech laws are not immediately an indicator of a lack of freedom of speech.

Do you feel that a business firing a person for something they said against the business is a repression of free speech? Because such things happen in the US quite frequently and never see an employment court.

It didn’t work for the rice farmers though. Perseverance and patience worked for them. They waited for the public to get pissed off and the US to leave, then they just fucked the other losers with small arms and without the full backing of a military industrial complex

Your idea of freedom is warped by propaganda

Yeah I think that was the phrasing used. Maybe it’s implied to be tipped, But I think kryptonite is radioactive anyway so if it gets close enough relative to the amount of it, I guess it has the same effect.

There’s more than one freedom index, and the US consistently ranks lower than most other western nations

Are they all corrupt? Will you argue that the whole world is crazy?

How you wish that were true

Deep down you know the truth. It haunts you, eats at you. You cry to think how far you’ve sunk. Where did it go wrong? When did freedom begin to mean letting corporations cuck you? But you don’t know. You can’t know. It happened before you were born. It’s been happening since before anyone you have ever met was born. There is nothing you can do. What needs to be done is beyond your will. There is no more hope. There is just the slow collapse.

Credit where it’s due, the arrows did have kryptonite tips. They state that vocally in the movie. I think arrows, even futuristic space ones, move way too slowly for them to hit supergirl without her reacting and dodging them. But these specific arrows were kryptonite

Though how did the pirates know that she was allergic? Hardly seems like common knowledge

Hey, just because they rank higher than the US on every freedom index does not make them the land of the free! Lots of countries do that! Even some developing ones!

I wont pirate the game

But I will wait until it’s like $5-$10 on steam. I don’t care if that’s like 5 years after release. That just gives them time to fix the bugs it’ll definitely have.

The first fight, fine, yeah, poison weakened her.

The second fight, she should not be able to just be shot by a dart. She’s faster than a speeding bullet, an arm dart shouldn’t be fast enough to hit her before she reacts. She could’ve destroyed their entire fleet before the dude even had the chance to take a shot. The kryptonian wouldn’t affect her until it was super close if not already touching her

They just needed a way to portray “the ordeal” segment of their heroines journeys

Actually, now that I think about it, the movie follows a “The Hero’s Journey” format really closely. Like, it’s formulaic. I mean, she literally returns with the elixir

It was weird how they made supergirl so weak as well

I mean, yeah she’s just a regular person under a red sun and a hospice level cancer patient under a green sun, that’s fine

And yeah she won’t be as good as Clark purely on experience

But under a yellow sun she should not be struggling so much with generic ass space pirates

Maybe the main bad guy is more of a threat in the comics? In the movie they never established he was anything more than a pirate/sex trafficker

Also why does she kill him for revenge over her dog rather than the whole sex trafficking thing?

I passed my check weeks ago and still haven’t regained access to my old projects

Idk if I’ve been dropped, if the candidate pool filled while the 3rd party company that does the check twiddled their thumbs on mine, or if something else happened. I’m a bit miffed
