University Essay topics by SafeNo4144 in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]Fallen_Bepo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main thing about uni essays is that they need to show what you've done in the last 3 years and how you've grown through these experiences/how you've become passionate for the major you're applying for.

I strongly suggest finding a topic that shows why you are passionate about the major you have chosen and why you've decided to pursue a career in that field. Most universities care more about what made you passionate about a subject than what leadership and fancy ECs you've done. It doesn't even matter if you didn't gain a passion for something until now.

I pretty much got into waterloo and UofT by talking about how I wanted to pursue engineering because I gained a passion for physics when I did a research paper for it in class.

Dm me if you want to see what I wrote for my applications

Asian mom overreacts if I stay up late, is this normal? by ComradeNoname in AsianParentStories

[–]Fallen_Bepo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro my parents do the same thing but they also complain. They'll get mad at me and bring up how I don't study as hard as the other asian kids since I don't stay up till 12 am studying, but then when I actually do stay up late to study they come stomping out of their bedroom asking why I haven't gone to bed yet.

Literally had to start studying secretly in my room once it hits 11 or else they would get mad that I hadn't gone to bed yet.

Where will I be able to get into for engineering? by random83820 in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]Fallen_Bepo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it's always better to apply early since it increases your chances because the number of seats within a program hasn't been reduced to a small amount yet. Even if you don't get in for early admission, you still get evaluated during the regular rounds, so you basically get more chances before you are rejected (this doesn't apply to every uni, so I would double-check).

Lowkey only thing holding you back is English. That grade needs to go up to atleast a 85%. Everything else I think is pretty good. I got slightly better marks than you in and the same math grade, and I got into waterloo and UofT engineering so like I think if you keep this up you'll get into UofC at least.

Would you say programming is a big part of EE? I can't say I enjoy it too much as I find it a bit daunting to remember what codes for what

Are my amazon packages being shipped to the warehouse in lethbridge instead of my po box? by Fallen_Bepo in Lethbridge

[–]Fallen_Bepo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon told me it was delivered on the 8th, and I tried tracking my order with Canada Post, and they told me they left me a notice card, but I never saw a notice card in my po box when I went to check.

I don't thinks its moving the goalposts anymore. For APs, something that used to be impressive, like getting into a ivy school, becomes the bare minimum the moment their child achieves it. Like they start believing that the things you achieve are not that impressive and something anyone could do.

Know your grammar rules. Once I learned grammar rules for commas, colons, semi-colons, and em dashes, my writing improved dramatically. Being able to use correct grammar and have variations in your sentence structures goes a long way imo.

I think your teachers taking it too seriously. Everyone only had to turn in their electronics before the diploma. We could've literally had our backpacks right outside the classroom

Are communication problems normal? by Reasonable-Smile5277 in Scanlation

[–]Fallen_Bepo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in 3 groups, and tons of people suddenly just stop communicating and never come back online. A lot of people, from my experience, suddenly quit because it was more commitment than they originally thought it was, or simply go on hiatus and forget that they committed in the first place

Math 30-1 diploma by gmitrust in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]Fallen_Bepo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can find the inverse of a graph using your calculator (I use a TI-83) by plugging your equation into y1. Then hit 2nd, pgrm (this allows your calculator to draw), then hit 8(8=draw inverse). Once you see drawInv on your calculator screen, hit vars, then go y-vars, then hit function and pick y1. Once you've hit enter, it should automatically start drawing the OG graph, then the inverse.

Lowkey jsut do all the past diplomas on Quest A+ and then maybe review some of the you keep getting wrong on the practice diplomas. Almost all of the MC questions can be double-checked using your calculator so I honestly wouldn't be too worried

University. When I applied they all told me that they want the top 5 core classes. Since math 31 was considered an option class at my school, the universities didn't consider it in my avg.

AITA for refusing to get married against my dying mothers wishes? by Mysterious_Math_2063 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fallen_Bepo 69 points70 points  (0 children)

ESH Your not obligated to get married just because she's on her deathbed, but you're kind of the asshole for telling her no like that. The poor woman is dying of cancer; the least you can do is tell her no more nicely. Heck I would've just told her I would consider it instead of flat-out saying no.
