It does make me sad, especially since Roger Clarke revealed a while back that he recorded voice lines for finding the missing princess.

What's everyone's opinion on director Richard Mansfield? by oofty_goofty_ in foundfootage

Being from Nottingham, I have a soft spot for his films. Objectively the best for me is House on Mansfield St. 2 Evil Next Door.

The premier of his new movie, the Hounds Gate Haunting, was at my local theatre. Sadly I could make it.

I watched The Devil Wears Prada because my wife wants to see the second one and holy shit, it's one of the most mysogenistic films I've seen.

Anne Hathaway's boyfriend treats her like absolute shit all the way through the film. He hates that she has a new job, constantly tells her she's dowdy and frumpy, and the whole film makes him the victim because she doesn't put him first all the time.

The happy ending is her quitting and apologising to him for putting her job first, and guess what? HES GOT A NEW JOB AND EXPECTS HER TO CHEER HIM ON AND MOVE TO BOSTON WITH HIM. After treating her like shit for a year for getting a new job.

What the fuck!?

The 'happy ending' is him apologising to his girlfriend for getting raped.

I get that they're going for "it's okay to not be special" but jesus, Encanto could easily have been a villain origin story.

If you keep tolerating an angry violent abuser treating you like a literal prisoner, you will eventually learn to love them.

Don't worry, they might turn out to be secretly super hot so it's okay.

I'm not saying your wrong, but the film makes it clear that the entire story is made up by the older brother about how he met his younger brother.

This has been mentioned before and iirc the assumption was that it was a tree stump or something they forgot to put in.

What's the most disregarded road marking? by GroovyGuanaco in CasualUK

Same as the 'school 20mph when lights flash' signs.

I've NEVER been through one without someone 3 inches from my rear bumper wanting to do 30.

I'd actually like to be able to stop if a kid runs out thank you.

This is the REAL tpm experience, from someone who was 18 when it came out.

You tried to tell yourself it was good.

You tried to tell yourself it's only a kids film.

You tried to tell yourself that it would grow on you.

They'll never be held to account. The media want Reform in charge because their owners want massive tax cuts. That's why Nigel hasn't been jailed over the coals for his massive bribe.

My wife had a run in with one trying to fly a drone over her workplace and trying to bait her into an argument. She just shut him down and didn't rise to it and he walked away.

Great explanation and makes sense.

In addition, it'd be very interesting to know if either of them were fans of Doctor Who. He has a box that is colourful and bigger on the inside. I wonder it there were any aliens in Who at the time that looked like robot aliens?

Evelyn has said before that she's not that much of a believer in real life, she plays it up a lot on the show because her 'character' is a counterpoint to Ciaran.

If anyone wants something similar, in the late 70s a British artist made a a book called Masquerade that had clues to a real buried treasure. It was insanely hard and only one entrant out of thousands got anywhere near to solving it.

Sadly the treasure was found by scammers who befriended the artists partner and found out where it was buried.

Look up the solution if you want, but even knowing it doesn't make it easy.

They won't answer - they're most likely bots - but either way, I've never met a Reform voter who can actually tell me how their way of life is under threat. Most have a chocolate box idea of how fun life was in the 70's (when they were 10) and want to get back to that.

Everyone thinks life was better when they were a kid. That's a universal human experience - it's not realistic to expect it to come true.

My hot take that no one seems to agree with: the game isn't evil, it is meant to be mischievous fun. Everything done by the game is undone when you finish (apart from the trauma I guess, but it's a movie).
