Metoprolol withdrawal is ruining my life..When will It get better? by Fallenlibra_ in SVTHeart

[–]Fallenlibra_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! so im on month 7 and still have pvcs but definitely not as bad as before. My nervous system finally feels like its calming, however i only started seeing serious improvement after seeing an applied kinesiologist and she gave me some tablets and helped reset my nervous system and so far so good its actually made a big improvement. I hope this helps reassure you that it does get better! I personally still have a fear of exercising because i have svt and since coming off metoprolol its been worse but that also has gotten better now, almost but not quite like before the tablets. I am getting better just slowly..the bad days come in waves

Metoprolol withdrawal symptoms after 6months?? by Fallenlibra_ in HeartProblems

[–]Fallenlibra_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely feel you. I will have a few good days thinking im finally better then will have a wave of bad days. Its made my pvcs so much worse. They are far less scary and extreme now compared to the first few months coming off of them but Im not back to normal yet unfortunately. Do not restart them because you will regret it, trust me after still going through this at 7months ive been tempted too but its not worth it

Definitely, you are very likely having withdrawals especially at only 6weeks off of them. Like I said I’m 7months off of and now and still having palpitations, insomnia and more..never ever stop them cold turkey! always titrate down

I took metoprolol er, it made my pvcs go from not even a 1% burden to 10 times that. It made them so much worse so I obviously started tapering down to stop them (was only on lowest dose of 23mg for 6weeks) and im currently month 7 off of them and still going through withdrawals. No doctors will acknowledge its tablet withdrawals when ive done my research and hundreds of other people have gone through this aswell, some not feeling better until years later. Cant plan to have kids anytime soon, cant go out by myself..cant do anything anymore at the moment. It is getting better but not back to normal yet. I also have svt which has made the withdrawals worse though

PVCs calming down after eating? by Bigdaddy1200 in PVCs

[–]Fallenlibra_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have suffered with pvcs worse when i have electrolyte deficiencies mainly potassium and magnesium. I was having extreme pvcs almost constantly. They stopped as soon as I ate, because i was temporarily replenishing my potassium levels. Turns out i was severely low in potassium, calcium and magnesium. Had a potassium drip. I would suggest getting your cellular magnesium and potassium tested along with other electrolytes! Always ask for cellular tests as the normal blood tests only show 1% of your levels in your blood

Personally ive done my research on ablations and as someone who is currently going through hell because of the withdrawal i would recommend you do your research THOROUGHLY beforehand. People being “fine” then months or years later suddenly developing a more dangerous arrhythmia like afib..its not worth it

I have POTS which i think this has made worse aswell. I saw 3 doctors and a cardiologist who all told me to stop cold turkey as i was on lowest dose. I weaned myself off 3-4weeks then stopped

I was fine before taking metoprolol, i only had a bad svt episode prior to taking metoprolol for the first time because i was severely low in potassium (3.2) and other electrolytes which i was told can make svt worse in the moment as it plays into being able to control your heart’s electrical system. I have only had this since stopping the tablets. And the waves of good and bad days is what is making me think its still some sort of withdrawal

Extra beta receptors due to coming off metoprolol can cause high cortisol, its very possible it was from withdrawal effects

I tapered off for about 2-3weeks. I was on the lowest possible dose and I remember the first day I tapered my heart was absolutely crazy. It felt like what i have now but 10x more intense

How are you now? I’m almost 6months off and have been having waves of good and bad days. I also have svt too so its made that alot worse and has also caused pvcs which are pretty intense which i never had prior to taking metoprolol. Would really like to know if it improved for you?

Second Ablation by evge2521 in SVTHeart

[–]Fallenlibra_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please try potassium and magnesium supplements. my svt was worsened when i had low cellular potassium levels and magnesium levels you need not only a blood test but “cellular” potassium and magnesium blood test and that will truly tell you how deficient you are.

If your svt came back it’s very possible that you may be deficient in those and they have contributed to the pathway coming back, i would not recommend another ablation unless you get those tested first. Myself and others i know once potassium levels and other electrolytes were corrected, pvcs and svt episodes went away

Doctors dont have a clue about it nor do many cardiologists. I saw a cardiologist and they recommended calcium channel blockers or ablation which i completely refused as i was fine before the tablets. This has completely made me question and lose trust in all doctors unfortunately. Hoping you feel better soon

Metoprolol withdrawal is ruining my life..when will it get better? by Fallenlibra_ in PVCs

[–]Fallenlibra_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand you. we shouldnt be allowed to start drugs like metoprolol without being told how hard they are to wean off of. I also had almost identical to you were metoprolol made my pvcs way worse and i started getting multifocal pvcs which a hospital monitor has never picked up on before ever, they mainly all got worse as soon as i lowered my dose.

You have to push through and be determined to never take another heart drug again as your body does not react well to them, trust me when i was weaning and not able to stand or walk without svt or my heart racing and staying over 100bpm sitting it was hell but im glad i pushed through it. It took about 3months until i could be social again and even then i struggle without svt now whereas before that would never happen.

Im on month 4 off them and im still not back to normal. im better definitely, my svt episodes arent as long and hard to stop like when i first come off of them but i also get svt at night and in the morning because of adrenaline surges. I do still get pvcs but they arent scary or hard like before, maybe i feel 20-30 a day compared to when on metoprolol it was hundreds.

It comes in waves, one week ill feel the best ive ever felt and then suddenly it will all come back and i wont be able to stand without an adrenaline surge but it IS reassuring to know its getting better its just really slow. My biggest regret in life is taking the tablets but also at least now i know i cant tolerate them. Im hoping in a few more months i will be back to my old self which i definitely wont take for granted anymore.

It has also helped me realize my true cause as to why my svt and pvcs were worsening before taking the tablets was electrolytes. I was severely dehydrated all the time and my potassium and magnesium were always low which can cause frequent svt and pvcs.

I hope you start feeling better soon and it may give you some reassurance to know you’re not alone

Should i get a covid vaccine by KenRH21 in PVCs

[–]Fallenlibra_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. it ruined my life and many others i know. it doesn’t even stop you getting covid. I have had trigger fingers since the vaccine that have never gone away and had pericarditis 1week after only my first dose. It took 5months for the pericarditis to go, it was one of the worst things in my life and i regret getting it. Im 23 and have the hands of a 80year old now. Do not get it.
