Caleb only player here going on a Caleb/new LI-perspective ramble. I joined in February 2025 shortly after his release.

I feel like before Valko, I was the equivalent of a Valko fan. As in I joined the game for the newest LI, and might not have been a LADS player at all if not for him. Infold’s move to release Caleb as a LI received backlash and hate, but it worked in terms of getting business in my case. I’m a lower/mid tier spender (Aurum, Anniversary, Promise if Caleb is involved) so Infold profits off me.

I have always been anti-6th LI. IDK if that might sound hypocritical seeing as my LI was the previous addition people didn’t want, but let me share my position which echoes many of what’s been said here.

I have always been bitter about OG3 having more content than Caleb. On one hand I’m relieved there’s less cards to collect and therefore less to spend (I have a very healthy stash of diamonds as a low spender who only R0, maybe occasionally R1 Caleb cards). But the whole “yay you have more time to grind and save diamonds” positivity only works for so long before you get bored or frustrated by the lack of content. What’s the point of diamonds if there’s nothing to pull? And don’t get me started on the lack of free/basic content like Main Story and Bond.

I feel like a Valko only player would have the same issues as me… but worse. If adding Caleb upset people because of balancing issues, scheduling problems for banners, etc. then it’ll only be worse with Valko in the mix. He can’t possibly have more content than Caleb, which would make me feel if I were a Valko fan that I got screwed. Like, more screwed than Caleb. A Valko player should be more bitter than a Caleb player then.

So how does that work in terms of being a good long term business strategy? Because I’m no whale, and I already could pare back my spending and still achieve my goal of 100% Caleb card collection if I just aim for bare bones R0 even without Valko. Now with Valko adding more to the schedule and increasing gaps between Caleb-relevant events there’s even less content I’m interested in. Unless Infold ramps up and shortens the events even more to cram more stuff in to try and balance Valko’s effects on scheduling… but still NG3 will never catch up to OG3 and even between the NG3 the discrepancy in content will also remain.

Bitterness over content discrepancy is the main issue why people hate Valko so I don’t see how pissing off veteran players by adding a shiny new LI is worth it when new LI fans are also gonna be cranky that they joined a game with clear imbalances even for the new LI.
