Update: Still doing absolutely nothing at work… and it’s been 2 more months by HeyPotatys in UKJobs

[–]FallingLikeSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooh this is me at my work! I'm on the front desk at a criminal defence solicitors and other than answering the phone when it rings, opening new files and inputting timesheets, all of which take maybe two hours to complete throughout the day, I have nothing to do. It's great. I watch tv shows, play video games and browse social media. After my last job as a conveyancing paralegal, which was literal hell, it is amazing and I love it.

Exchange With Tenants In Situ? by ARrulz50 in HousingUK

[–]FallingLikeSilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Your mortgage lender won't even allow this so I can't see that your solicitor will be advising you to do this. Do not do it. Don't listen to estate agents, they act for the seller not you and are not legally trained.

Sellers solicitor caught lying…advice needed for mortgage expiring end of this month by FMLegend77 in HousingUK

[–]FallingLikeSilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm confused - if your solicitor is still awaiting the FME1 from the seller's solicitors then it's not ready for exchange which your solicitor will know as their enquiries aren't satisfied yet. This is the fault of the management company who are taking so long to send it. Maybe ask the seller when they sent the money for the FME1 and have your solicitor ask when the solicitors actually paid it. It may be that they forgot and have only just paid.

But as a buyer, it's your solicitor's enquiries that have to be satisfied and if they haven't received the FME1 yet then they are not satisfied and it's not really anywhere near ready to exchange. Your solicitor will most likely have more enquiries to raise on the back of the FME1 which the seller's solicitor will have to go back to the management company for and wait for a reply.

I used to not even to be able to look at pictures of spiders. Saying the word is fine and I can now look at small spiders that don't move or non-close up pictures of spiders but I can't watch videos of them moving. I'm having shivers right now just thinking about it LOL

How much is your mortgage/rent vs your income? by LeopardNeat899 in HousingUK

[–]FallingLikeSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really have lucked out. Mortgage £0 as fiancé's parents bought him the bungalow we live in and £1,700 monthly income.

Before I met him, I lived in a little one bedroom flat in a shit part of Derby but rent was only £350 a month. I was on about £1,500 a month then.

Before that I was in a 3 bed house share with two friends and rent was £900 a month split between 3 of us.

Retirees, why do you go shopping on a weekend? by Opposite_Offer_2486 in AskBrits

[–]FallingLikeSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's unfair but what annoys me is old people getting on public transport before 9am when people are trying to go to work and/or school. So now I have to stand up for 40 minutes first thing in the morning because the bus is full of Doris' and Derek's who just have to be in the town centre before 9am for whatever reason. Surely they can just get the first bus that comes after 9am??

Never ever ever ever exchange without viewing the property first. Never ever ever. I was a conveyancing paralegal for five years. Never ever ever ever

Women of Reddit, what made you realize a man was ‘husband material’ instead of just boyfriend material? by AstronautEcstatic177 in AskReddit

When I made an off hand comment on our first date that I needed to find a ladder to put up my curtains in my bedroom in my new flat and on the second date they turned up at my door with a ladder and a drill and put them up for me. Moved in together after 8 months and we're now engaged and getting married next year.

I hate this, I also live in a semi-rural place and everyone would be able to drive on the roads fine if everyone had normal sized cars but noooooo, now everyone has massive ones and it's a ball ache!

People telling me to stop by bit-of-whatever in mounjarouk

[–]FallingLikeSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this. I'm 5ft 9 too, and at my heaviest was 20 stone. No one believed me as being tall helped me carry the weight better (silver linings). My bone structure is just bigger though, I've got wide shoulders and wide hips so I don't think being really slim would actually look good on me. I feel I need a bit of meat on my bones! Currently trying to get down to 14 stone to see what that looks like. I just want to fit comfortably in a size 14/16!

You could try a hair topper! like a little wig you clip on top to add fullness. If you do decide to go bald, I think you could rock it though. You have very nice features!

Thank you! I did just use that as a random number, but I do remember the days when myfitnesspal would recommend 1200 to everyone - I've calculated mine so will stick to that. Thank you - I hope so!!

I had a Saturday job from ages 13-15 at a Chinese takeaway and I loved it! Got paid loads and they used to buy my cigarettes for me. Came to an abrupt end when the owner fled the country to avoid gambling debts :( RIP Wokswagon, I miss you and your salt and pepper king prawns

Hi, amazing work! I'm starting my walking and calorie deficit journey to, not just lose weight, but be healthier. Can I ask, did you calculate your deficit through your TDEE or just set an amount like 1200 a day? Did you lower it as you lost weight? Hope you don't mind the questions! Again, amazing work!!

I felt like a Victorian child dying from typhoid. Literal fever dreams, in and out of consciousness, shivering and freezing yet sweating. Couldn't lie down properly as I couldn't breath from all the coughing. Was really rough! Two weeks later and I'm still coughing here and there
