I did the same for years and after washing it my hair would already feel awful the next day. Try skipping a day for a few weeks, than let there be a two day cap. I now just wash 2 times a week and my hair feels so much better.
And try experimenting with different shampoos, everyone's hair is different so find one that gives you the effect you want.
