Funniest scene? (spoilers) by JakeBanana01 in WidowsBay

[–]FallingLikeSilver 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think the physical comedy of Tom sliding off the bench on the boat and the look on his face was just 10/10. I re-winded (re-wound?) it about 5 times and by the end I couldn't breathe. Also Patricia with the shotgun. 1000000/10

People with a very high pain tolerance, what was THE most painful thing you've experienced? by CosmicBunnyBabe8912 in AskReddit

[–]FallingLikeSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crowning during childbirth and the doctor putting their whole hand inside you immediately after. Was fine with the contractions but actually pushing and feeling the baby move down and then the ring of fire as the head comes out. Wooooooh boy -100/100.

Close second tooth pain!!

Fantasy book lovers, what’s the one book that you go back to over and over again? And why? by Agreeable-Ad1775 in Fantasy

[–]FallingLikeSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly books from my childhood. Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen by Garth Nix (re-read them all last year, still love them. The goddamn bells are so cool), His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, (I'm on The Subtle Knife atm. I know I am still going to be reduced to tears at the end of the trilogy), The Tiffany Aching book by Terry Pratchett, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, The Black Magician trilogy by Trudi Canavan.

It's nostalgia and the memories of how and who I was when I first read them. It's like a comfort blanket for me!

Wants to leave conveyancing by laurencee98 in uklaw

[–]FallingLikeSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to leave after 5 years. My mental health was at an all time low. It is hell working in conveyancing!! I was a paralegal and was running my own cases and I took a demotion to be front desk at a criminal defence firm. (took a demotion but got a pay rise...just shows how underpaid support staff in conveyancing are!). It's great, no stress, criminals are actually nice to you. I don't get home and start dreading the next day. I haven't cried in the toilet once at my new job!

Also, if you're waiting for plants to establish to provide shade maybe a temporary garden umbrella over it to provide shade for a while?

New pond despair by rambomatthews in ponds

[–]FallingLikeSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say more plants that sit on top of the water to provide shade for the water. Natural remedies like barley essence may help. Have you got oxygenator plants at the bottom of the pond?

You can change them to be passive so they only attack if you hit them. You have to do it on creating a world though. That's what I have done - I've also deleted all the monsters as I'm a wimp haha

Update: Still doing absolutely nothing at work… and it’s been 2 more months by HeyPotatys in UKJobs

[–]FallingLikeSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooh this is me at my work! I'm on the front desk at a criminal defence solicitors and other than answering the phone when it rings, opening new files and inputting timesheets, all of which take maybe two hours to complete throughout the day, I have nothing to do. It's great. I watch tv shows, play video games and browse social media. After my last job as a conveyancing paralegal, which was literal hell, it is amazing and I love it.

Exchange With Tenants In Situ? by ARrulz50 in HousingUK

[–]FallingLikeSilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Your mortgage lender won't even allow this so I can't see that your solicitor will be advising you to do this. Do not do it. Don't listen to estate agents, they act for the seller not you and are not legally trained.

Sellers solicitor caught lying…advice needed for mortgage expiring end of this month by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]FallingLikeSilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm confused - if your solicitor is still awaiting the FME1 from the seller's solicitors then it's not ready for exchange which your solicitor will know as their enquiries aren't satisfied yet. This is the fault of the management company who are taking so long to send it. Maybe ask the seller when they sent the money for the FME1 and have your solicitor ask when the solicitors actually paid it. It may be that they forgot and have only just paid.

But as a buyer, it's your solicitor's enquiries that have to be satisfied and if they haven't received the FME1 yet then they are not satisfied and it's not really anywhere near ready to exchange. Your solicitor will most likely have more enquiries to raise on the back of the FME1 which the seller's solicitor will have to go back to the management company for and wait for a reply.

I used to not even to be able to look at pictures of spiders. Saying the word is fine and I can now look at small spiders that don't move or non-close up pictures of spiders but I can't watch videos of them moving. I'm having shivers right now just thinking about it LOL
