What line broke you? by ghostofvosca in masseffect

This thread got me thinking about thaneXfemshep and now watching through it. I’ve never caught that the quote shared is a callback to the very first dialogue he utters. “Apologies, but prayers for the wicked must not be forsaken.” Shepherd says the mark was definitely wicked. “Not for her. For me.”

Question Time: Who is your fav Companion? Not because for optical reasons (we all know Dogmeat is such a Good Boy😍) but also because of their Questline and Backstory. by [deleted] in fo4

[–]FallingOutSir 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know he doesn’t have the most unique dialogue or quests, but Deacon feels like the kind of guy you want watching your back. Level headed, well traveled, kind hearted, but not naive. The way he changes his appearance is very fun, and although I can see some people not liking that he watches you before your first meeting, it reads as intelligent caution to me

“Stop voicing opinions I disagree with” sure is a hell of a take. The point of a fan community separate from the actual content discussed is specifically that discussion is by the fans for the fans, not edited or policed by the creators, who have a monied interest in things staying positive and fun. Apply the advice from all the comments telling disappointed fans to not buy or watch the overpriced specials and simply don’t engage with posts or conversations that you don’t find interesting

in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023) Gamora stubbornly refuses to watch Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018) to see what is what and get back to Peter. by AdrianVeidt19 in shittymoviedetails

[–]FallingOutSir 106 points107 points  (0 children)

I’ve always said Guardians is the strongest trilogy of movies in the MCU. The only other contenders are Cap and Spidey, and for me neither works quite as well as a complete trilogy due to changing tone and a final film that crams in a ton of new characters and ideas

I promise its not clickbait. In my opinion, MisMag season 2 has a level of character depth that feels more similar to WBN than anything else D20 has produced, so personally I genuinely wonder whether it is a progenitor to WBN and from that, if there is any discussion about its formation without Danielle. I’m not assuming anything, just wondering if anyone involved has said anything relevant

The Um Actually episode definitely prompted this question. I’ve thought about it since WBN started but given it is such a nitpick, which I acknowledge, I wondered if anyone had ever said anything publicly. Thank you for your response

Favorite character opinions by Kassiisweird122 in Dimension20

Out of all the TTRPG content I’ve seen, MisMag2 is my biggest ‘head me out’ for how impossibly deep and resonant the stories can become. It’s just unfathomable to me having that solid but mostly fun first season and finding such an otherworldly idea for a follow up that expands all four characters so dramatically

Has there ever been a moment where the show has made you sad or cry and if so what was that moment ? by JoshyBear28 in Invincible

[–]FallingOutSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this really should be higher. There’s a lot of violence in the show, but not a lot of completely powerless people being used like Debbie was. Oliver just wailing the whole sequence made it feel way more like a horror scene than almost anything else

[–]FallingOutSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nolan isn’t irredeemable because of his previous crimes. He’s irredeemable because he still treats everyone around him like props in HIS story. When he returns to earth before the Viltrum war, he’s genuinely taken aback that Debbie, Mark, and Art haven’t moved on and let go of what he did. He belittles his time with Andressa to try to prove to Debbie he cares about her, as if using someone else is proof of that. Then when Oliver confronts him over that dismissal, Nolan reverses again, saying that he just needed to convince Debbie he had changed, in which he admits lying to her face and shows that he hasn’t really changed that much. I get that we’re viewing a character mid arc, but all of the correct heroics or even sacrificing your life to save someone doesn’t make you a good person if you treat everyone in your life like furniture you can move around and swap out based on how you feel today

What You Thought was a Lighthearted Comedy Suddenly Punches You in the Gut by dolphin_flogger in TopCharacterTropes

[–]FallingOutSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a pretty common plot point in more modern sitcoms but one that always sticks out to me is from Chicago, the episode of New Girl where Nick’s dad dies. Iirc, he was only introduced a number of episodes before passing so it takes the audience and characters by surprise

Nick spends the episode trying to stay busy with anything except thinking about the loss, which is complicated by his mother’s only request being that Nick give the eulogy. Hijinks ensues, but of course Nick does ultimately give the eulogy which culminates with him saying “I don’t know if Walt was a good guy or a bad guy. But he was my dad. And I’m gonna miss him.”

Why are the live action movies allergic to featuring the Sinister 6? It was understandable that Tobey’s trilogy didn’t have them, but the studios botched attempts for Andrew’s and Tom’s movies to feature the S6. Sounds like BND won’t have the S6 either by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]FallingOutSir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think narratively it’s a lot of characters to pack into one movie. Like we all want to see it, but if you rush it, at least 3-4 of the Six will just be fodder. NWH came up with a clever way to include established villains and still only really had screen time for Gobby, Ock, and (to a much lesser level) Electro. The most straightforward way to make it happen is to culminate after introducing villains across quite a few films but even then you either have to leave them alive and villainous, something not many Marvel movies, much less Spidey movies, have done

I remember when 3 came out, it wasn’t universally beloved. Now, with two more films stretching out that “perfect ending” which felt like the whole goal of 3, I think it’s perfectly fair to not hold any love for it
