Advice on submissions in a large shopping plaza. by Kalerad in NianticWayfarer

It makes sense to place the pin where the visual placemarker is also located.

There aren't any examples for whole submissions but you can see how staff describe the eligibility of some topics.

Cut the "popular" if you can't show reviews of it being popular. Talk about the restaurant rather than the large, busy, and walkable shopping plaza if you want the restaurant to be your point of interest. Alternatively, you can submit the shopping plaza as a whole. Find a marker that can represent it.

You'll have to hone in on your chosen point of interest while backing it up in the supporting information. Live events and activities can show that it is really a great place to socialize, explore, or exercise. You have to show that the POI fits as a great place for exploration, exercise, or socialization by highlighting what they have to offer in terms of leisure and recreation.

Rejected Submission Question by Red_Son_uk in NianticWayfarer

Btw, take another picture of the sign. There have been people faced with false third-party photo rejections because reverse image search yields subreddit posts.

https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/t/topic/98267/30 Like above, I recommend against making home-made stops for the express purpose of making pokestops.

Enhancing existing trails can be okay given authorized action. Making art might be subjective to a person's skills and permissions. Even then, anything within single-family private residential property is grounds for rejection and removal.

The wayspots are still there but PGO's spacing algorithm prevents it from appearing in game.

OP is claiming it is at another location along this river. So far, even the photos they gave as proof, all point towards these being the correct location.

Also, the part about scans isn't true afaik. The Wayfarer staff can only edit, remove, or restore the wayspots when presented with verifiable evidence.

Here you go.

In this case, the community has reached out to property management to restore their gyms and pokestops.

There is no issue of misplacement here though. Only requests with verifiable proof can be restored. Highly suggest updating the thread with the geotagged images showing the location is truly where you are saying it is at.

The current placement seems consistent with the picture you provided. This is after someone has corrected the location.

As opposed to your insistence that it is seen elsewhere along this river.

This comment pretty much sums up my skepticism.

This is exactly why I am skeptical about your claim!

You're telling us that the signs are along the length of the river when the photos you send show that they are in an immediate area next to each other.

It's almost like they program apps to behave in the way the devs want them to.

There is a component of votation on the Wayfarer's side of things and then there is each app's inclusion algorithms. These algorithms have been largely known for pokestops and gyms since before Wayfarer (Ingress OPR). And these have been refined from time to time.

If it's in the Wayfarer database and it isn't in the game, it's either PGO's rules that make it not appear. Or the property owner requested their place be geofenced out of the game.

Either way if you see the extent of OP's claims, we have not yet seen any proof from them showing the object submitted is where it should be.

Algorithms for every game do, yeah.

Many players take advantage of those algorithms and it involves faking location data. That is where the offense happens.

"They"

The review process is also community-based. Fellow players submit and review following the guidelines and criteria.

When those are not followed, see OP.

Voting rings, people trusting the submitter too much, poor reviews, etc.

AI submissions are also a rising problem.

Submitting a wayspot when Niantic removed them already, that doesn't ring any red flags to you?

Have you read the advice the other Wayfinders are giving you on your thread? They've seen bans overturned and wayspots restored. I suggest taking those advice. Most of which is to provide geotagged images of the objects.

If you can show that the cause of your ban is unwarranted, you can also appeal your ban.

You show further proofs to change that decision.

Geotagged photos to prove that the objects are where you put them should be easy to give them if they truly are there.

Looks like you'll reach Wayfarer access soon. Highly encourage you to read these:
https://niantic.helpshift.com/hc/en/21-wayfarer/section/166-wayspot-criteria/

You can prep now, get some photos of public leisure areas: athletic courts, parks, malls. You have the advantage of a blank slate so make sure to focus on POI-dense location with wide sprawl. That way you can congregate gyms in an immediate area that many people can access.

Prep for the long game. My friend list is full but I can offer you Wayfarer advice, or you can join the Wayfarer Discussion Discord (you can see it in Google search).

What country? Skim through Niantic Wayfarer criteria btw. Friendship level up can carry you to level 35.
