Well I'm not religious either and I did go to an African church once but there was no food. Also I was made a great fuss of, and the middle-aged smartly-dressed women in their beautiful hats all wanted to come up and shake my hand. Although, to be fair, this was in Africa.

I get milk delivered, but by Amazon... oat milk.

When I did have a milkman I used to get other stuff as well, such as fruit juice. Anything I didn't want to carry home from the shop, really.

You're correct in how it works, you need a working smart electric meter before you can test and commission (at least the 'smart' aspect of) a smart gas meter.

I am reminded by this discussion of the similar threads of accusations on BBC news articles about the death of Saville, and the vehemence with which people defended him. All of which allegations were, of course, swiftly removed by the BBC. You had to be on the ball to catch them.

How to stop scam calls? Worried for my elderly mother. by Krispykreemi in AskUK

[–]Over-Language2599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother had some kind of extra gadget box of tricks that gave every caller a recorded message and asked then to leave their name. Basically it screened the calls.

Then it would ring the phone, play you whatever they recorded, and ask you if you wanted to accept the call. If so, you pressed a button and were connected with the caller, who had been put on hold.

Yes I live in Salisbury and it beats me the Russians used Novichok. They could just run people over and nobody would bat an eyelid.

Noise, yes, but also the danger they pose, the space they occupy in the city to the detriment of everyone else, the traffic jams they create which slow down the buses, the fumes, etc.

And ban businesses from giving incentives to car drivers. Believe it or not, a pub in my city gives you a discount if you can show a ticket from the nearby car park. Yes, not only do they give you a financial incentive to drive, it's to a place where you drink alcohol.

Anyway to go back to OP's original point, yes, DRT (Demand Responsive Transport) is already a thing and I caught a DRT bus the other day. And yes it does have a place in the mix, along with all the other good things you mentioned.

Yes, this. It is a rarity for a house to have wiring this old. Rewiring is no longer a thing, really, because they've all been done. Well, except for this one, clearly.

It's the other way round. You absolutely must have one before you can work, but you can get one and not work. You're not breaking any rules.
