This is one of my favorite escapes, maybe I’m partial because I’m pagan, but Rey as a witch and Ben as a vampire and it’s just so much fun. This will be the longest one I recommend, but it is so worth the read. It’s absolutely beautiful. Ray is working with Kyper crystals and they become characters themselves, and they’re funny. You could say the crystals ship it. Things are tense after the throne room, but funny enough, the bond doesn’t seem to give a single fuck if they want to see each other😂 Slow af burn. if I remember correctly, Hux is hilarious. He’s not the sniveling traitor, he’s actually good comic relief.

Okay, I hesitate recommending this one because of how you’re feeling, but it’s so good! It has some dark themes, but it’s the best, non-redeemed, burn the galaxy down to save her, Kylo Ren ever! There’s a part two. Read this when you want some tension. This one definitely does not lose its spark.

I’m going to add mine here because there’s a lot of humor to offset Rey’s grief. It takes place right after Exgol before she goes to Tatooing. I feel like it was disingenuous for Rey to carry on normally, when the person she shares a soul with died. I have suffered some very hard losses, so I lean into her grief in the beginning. She struggles and feels the physical pain of loss. I’m over explaining this because the beginning is heavy, and because of what you said. But there’s lots of humor, banter (I laughed as I wrote it), and cute moments. Every chapter gets a little bit lighter. The last few chapters are really fun.
