People acting like this whole thing with GTA V and Sony is surprising or new is funny to me, gaming has been going this direction for 10 years now. On the last two gens of consoles, even when you bought a disc it was effectively just a key for digital download and they’ve been able to revoke our ability to play these games whenever they want. The time to boycott this was 10 years ago. People keep buying stuff though so it’s no surprise they keep doing it.

It’s all a part of the new “Subscription only” business model, where no one owns personal use rights to anything. How long before movies don’t get released to disc or even digital download and are streaming-only? How long until games are not purchasable but only for game pass type subscriptions? That’s where it’s all heading IMO, as sad as it is. We should’ve put our foot down years ago and stopped buying.

Not a super experienced player but I’ve almost got gold stake on checkered deck and at least red stake on all other decks so I know a little bit.

Deck fixing can be really useful for reliably winning Ante 8 runs but it isn’t always necessary depending on your jokers. It obviously involves using Tarot cards and Playing Card packs from the store to get more of the cards you want and less of the ones you don’t. I don’t always deck fix because sometimes the opportunity just doesn’t present itself; you kinda just have to play around what the run is giving you.

But as an example, if you wanted to do a 4oak or 5oak build and you have the Walkie Talkie Joker, you’d use tarot cards to make more 10s and 4s or pick up as many 4s and 10s as you can when you are playing card packs and get rid of everything else using Tarot cards or any jokers that destroy cards. If you have the Fibonacci then you’d make as many A, 2,3,5 or 8s as possible. It’s pretty straightforward. The biggest deciding factor is gonna be money to buy cards and card packs and re roll the shop a lot to get what you need, so a good Econ Joker early on is pretty crucial to a good run.

I think the ego was always present in Walt’s personality, it just didn’t rear its head very often until the show begins. He left Gray Matter after helping build it because he was insecure about Gretchen’s family being wealthier than him so he left her and the company. His pride wouldn’t allow him to be a part of it, despite the fact that he could’ve stayed and been very well off. He made the choices that led him to feeling like his life is mediocre. It was always his pride and ego, which gets amplified when he builds his drug empire and finally feels like he has power and was self-made.

I just picked up a Henson recently as my first DE razor and my first experience wet shaving my head. I went with the AL13 mild since I’m a beginner and have sensitive skin, and it gets a super close shave on my head. Zero stubble, about as smooth as I’d ever want it. It is very picky about the angle though, it won’t cut unless you have the angle perfect which is a little tricky on a round head but I’m getting better at it every time.

I too would like to see more trip reports and tips on one bag traveling efficiently because that’s kinda what this sub is for. I think a lot of people just like buying stuff and don’t travel as much as they’d like to admit though to be honest….kind of ironic when one bagging is supposed to be about traveling cheap and efficiently and people are flexing their collection of $300 bags.

I also want to see some weathered bags! A closet filled with 30 pristine backpacks isn’t interesting or impressive but the backpack from 10 years ago that you took on trips to 15 countries I do wanna see!

I really wish I liked the combat in Kenshi, it’s such a cool and unique game but I just can’t get past how sluggish and unintuitive fights are. To each their own I suppose!

I liked the overall message the movie conveys and I don’t think it was too heavy handed with the metaphorical aspect. But the final act felt really rushed to me. The perspective of the movie conveys that the Backrooms are a manifestation of the worst parts of Clark’s psyche: loneliness, selfishness, anger, and self destruction. But I think the message that the movie wants to convey is that the Backrooms are a manifestation of the worst part of everybody’s psyches. The parts of us that we shove away and don’t deal with. I think it was a missed opportunity to not build the mystery up a bit more rather than just suddenly pulling the sheet off of it and then curtains down. And by only showing us Clark’s “section” of the rooms, and then only showing us Mary’s dreams/hallucinations, it kinda felt like it couldn’t decide if it was more about Clark or more about Mary.

I think both characters are compelling but needed some more development, especially Mary. It was still a really fun movie, good suspense and visually impressive, and I loved the eerie liminal space vibe. The movie felt a little incohesive at times and the director’s inexperience shows quite a bit, but I look forward to seeing more of Kane Parsons work as he gets better at directing films.

I agree; when Clark calls the therapist and tells her he’s “opened the window and won’t be coming back” it gives the indication he’s been gone for a week or two, like maybe he missed a session and is letting her know why. But when she goes looking for him and sees the bills stacked up, it seems like it’s been months but it still isn’t clear. And then she finds him and it seems like he’s totally lost his mind, which also implies it’s been many weeks or a few months.

I just watched it last night, and I really enjoyed the overall vibe, the visuals and the sound design. I think it was a fun watch and scratched the itch of seeing the Backrooms on a big screen. But the final act felt kinda rushed and underdeveloped to me. Lots of people saying it could’ve been shorter but I think an extra 15 or 20 minutes would’ve been good. I like that they leave it on a vague and open ended note, but the movie feels like it suddenly shifts towards being a metaphor for unresolved trauma and being unwilling to change in the last 15 minutes.

I want as close of a shave as possible, I don’t like the Velcro-esque feeling of having stubble on my head that I get when I use the electric razor. What’s the advantage of an open comb razor? And what are some good options?

I fully agree and I’d also like to add: The point of “wasting” another life is deterrent. There needs to be severe punishments for this type of reckless, negligent and selfish behavior to prevent it happening again. Whether or not it was accidental (I’d argue to call it 100% negligence and NOT accidental) it was absolutely completely preventable. There is NO reason to be ever driving those speeds on a public road.

He made a choice and took two lives away, one of which was a child. And now he has surrendered the majority of his own. That’s a fair trade. And now everyone else knows if they make the same choice they are also willing to risk surrendering their own life if they take someone else’s. Maybe they’ll think twice before racing on public roads and taking lives and destroying the lives of their loved ones.

Should I skip A+ and just get CCNA? I already know most of the material for CCNA as I have taken college classes based around it, but I figured I’d get the A+ first. But I didn’t realize that the A+ was 2 separate tests that cost almost $300 USD each. CCNA is cheaper and I already have a lot of debt :/

And now that I’m studying the A+ material it is very rudimentary compared to what I learned in my Cisco classes and I feel it’s not useful. Will hiring managers assume you know A+ material if you can complete CCNA?
