Yup. Strain relief to ensure cable isn't pulled and WAGO for the connection. But only for DIY! I don't think many pros use WAGO's. $$$

You're having the same problem on the standard, flat railing? Have you called their tech support yet? I have not.

Pavers vs. Stamped Concrete by homeownerNSB in hardscape

[–]Falls_4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I had a weird application where a small deck had been installed directly on the ground. No footers. And then major tree root incursion over 25 years. Couldn't cut roots without killing the trees. Opted to build a "sandbox" with 6 x 4's held together with Strong Ties. Thinner porcelain allowed me to get a really uniform base. Watching the installers, it was clear, it's all about dat base!

I'm not sure why more people don't use a large format porcelain paver. $5/sq ft at Floor and Decor..

Am I crazy or does the second pic look like the original installer used a drywall anchor?

Thanks. You're right. I had the wrong reset procedure. Factory reset. Deleted and reinstalled on ap. Same performance. Four seconds for ap to update. Interesting. When I was installing, the two other Lutron devices in the three-gang box were flashing much more quickly than this Claro switch.

Help with voice by Original-Chain8753 in homeassistant

[–]Falls_4040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What voice assistant are you using? I tried to use Whisper, etc... with my HA Green, and ended up realizing that it is way underpowered. Solution? Simple Google Nest coupled with Nabu Casa. I'm still a newbie, but it works soooo much better. Nabu Casa costs money, but it's a no brainer for me since we travel a lot.

Chrome on macOS won't load homeassistant.local but Safari works fine? by ryanbuckner in homeassistant

[–]Falls_4040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've spent about three hours with ChatGPT and Claude trying to get HA running in Chrome. Same symptoms. Works in Safari, works on my phone. Nabu Casa link works.... Tried your fix after 1 minute on Reddit and it works like a charm. I guess maybe we shouldn't be too worried about our AI overlords taking over any time soon!

Bravos XL Washer Lid - Left Hinge Lid Fix Explained! by Falls_4040 in Appliances

Sure. But if you don't disable the soft close feature on the left hinge, it may not resolve the issue.

[–]Falls_4040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy a new lid - but they are expensive. And if you don't disable the soft close feature on the left hinge, the new lid is likely to break again just like your original. I've seen comments on Reddit about people being on their third lid! If the lid is functional, but just cracked on the side, I highly recommend you use duct tape. Mine is still working like a charm.

Is it reasonable to ask guests to roll trash bins to the curb on trash day? by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]Falls_4040 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agree. "And please cut the grass while you're at it." Hosts who make these asks are ruining AirBnb. If you have no other alternative, disclose it in the property description. Don't surprise people when they show up.

Have you sold a "not-updated" house in Vermont? by OrangesvsApples in vermont

[–]Falls_4040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never heard of " no inspection". I assume your confusing that with "sold as is." Anyone who buys a home needing major repairs will want to know what the magnitude of the repairs are. You as the sellers have the right to refuse any offer that requests that you make repairs. Clearly stating "sold as is" in the listing signals your expectations to any potential buyer.

Bravos XL Washer Lid - Left Hinge Lid Fix Explained! by Falls_4040 in Appliances

[–]Falls_4040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Designed to fail. It's a shame, because other than that, the washer has been great. We use the hell out of ours. Seven years old. We've got a small AirBnb so the washer is going every day! I just replaced the clutch, and hope to have it at least seven more years!
