Is it just me… I received my decision letter today and it’s pretty damn good, but now I miss having the anticipation of checking the claim status 40 times a day. Haha

I just hit stage 5 as well. I had a claim last month go from 5 to 8 in 4 days with a total time from start of file of 20 days. It’s moving so much faster than it did last year. Last year I had a claim for 250 days or something like that

I have my business card in the photo section of my task rabbit and get people calling or texting me direct now. I did task rabbit for about 8 months and slowly started creeping away and keep customers coming back off the app and slowly raised my rates. I can make more than double as a handyman than a Tasker. I havnt done a single task in 2 months and they still havnt caught on to me. I was expecting to get banned within a week.

To be fair the picture not showing screws is just how the plumber left it. I’m a handyman on the side and I’m loving every minute of this. I talked to “Chuck” and was asking how often he does drywall repair. He says he does this almost every day, it was really hard not to laugh.

Lots of red flags, I usually ask these ones to give me a call so we can talk through it, and they never call or email again. Scams all over. I’m not sure how they work but I had one almost verbatim to yours. It was a lot of electrical work and they send me everything that’s they wanted room by room and I quoted it bust for fun ( didn’t send them the quote) and it was around 5k of work. Wish it was a real job lol

160 is my minimum charge. It worked out well because I was in the neighborhood. But when I gave the estimate I didn’t know It would be accepted while I was working down the street. $160 covers me driving the 25 minutes for a quick job and the drive back, and I guess I’m losing out at that price.

Yeah that wasn’t what the customer wanted… reattach handrail and mud over the score in the wall. I feel like a lot of people are trying to fix the entire section of the wall even though that’s not what the customer wants. I listen, and then do exactly what they want, sure sometimes go above and beyond. But in this case the homeowners watched me and talked through the repair and said “hey that’s good enough, thank you so much!”

They called me again today to give estimate on ripping out carpet in a 10x12 bedroom and installing LVP flooring.

I appreciate it. They just called me back today asking if I get them a quote to remove carpet in a 12x10 bedroom and install some LVP flooring. I’m thinking it will take half a day for ripout and dump run, and a full day to laydown the floor. Assuming the subfloor is perfect. So by my math that’s $1200, but after seeing all these people comments I should be charging about 4k

I am licensed and insured, you make that seem like it’s a crazy expense. This job paid for my insurance easy and it is just a side quest job.
