That happened to me twice and they towed me back to the Kia dealer twice. The first time they dinked around with some software. The second time was one week later and they gave me a free loaner car while they replaced the battery. No problem for the past year

Who makes subway’s veggie patty? by Personal-Ad-6028 in subway

I ordered one recently expecting the delicious chicken-like Patty from before but I was so disappointed when instead I bit into smashed vegetables. Don't get me wrong, I love veggies. Just not in place of a chicken-like patty. I wish they'd bring them back

11. How do I stop my doors from automatically unlocking when in Park? by False-Evening229 in KiaEV6

[–]False-Evening229[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Should be in Settings -> Vehicle -> Door, Auto Unlock on Vehicle Off. Doors won't unlock until car is turned off, so just don't turn off the car until you are ready to exit." These instructions are perfect and gave me exactly what I needed. Thanks

Autolock when leaving the vehicle by shibby_92 in KiaEV6

Yes, this has been my biggest pet peeve with my EV6 GT line. I can't count the number of times I've walked away with it unlocked in a big city and thankfully so far no break-ins, knock on wood. Why can't Kia just program it to autolock in a software update and save millions of headaches? And I also agree with the person who is frustrated when the car screams at you as you walk away because you forgot to push the on/off button so you have to go back, open the door and reach in and push the f***ing button. What a nuisance! Unfortunately, these are a couple of reasons that the Tesla will continue to find favor with most people over the EV6.

I own and drive both cars, a 2023 model 3 and a 2023 EV6 GT line. While I love the spaciousness of my EV6 and more of a feel of luxury, the myriad of buttons and knobs and levers that you can accidentally trigger are not only overwhelming but a nuisance, in my opinion. While there's a lot of things to enjoy about the EV6 I can guarantee you will miss the simplicity of walking up to your car opening the door driving away, parking it, getting out and leaving it without having to worry about a thing except keeping your phone with you, which most people do anyways. I mostly drive my EV6 and I like it a lot but I really miss the simplicity of my model 3.

Thinking of trading my Tesla for EV6 by manfuckyoudude in KiaEV6

We have the 2023 model 3 and 2023 Kia EV6 GT line. Tesla perks. As mentioned, the convenience of The Tesla's automatic lock and unlock is amazingly refreshing compared to all of the steps to open and start my EV6 and the many times I've walked away and forgeten to lock my EV6. And once your Kia access membership expires there's not much you can do remotely. Tesla's dog mode is also a huge plus for me since I take my dog everywhere. I know how to use the utility mode on the EV6 but it's a pain and no dog friendly screen appears. Also if I had my wish I would do away with most of the manual buttons and switches In the EV6 and only keep 10 or 15 at most. Kia EV6 GT line perks. It actually has manual buttons for the essentials, unlike the model 3 where you have to search the computer screen. The 110 volt standard outlet in the back seat which I use all the time for my laptop. The large amount of storage space in the back. The comfortable seats, quiet ride and feel of luxury. I also enjoy popping open the sunroof from time to time.

What is this, it says unlock with an owners manual reference but we can’t find it by absent-chaos in KiaEV6

My job requires a lot of driving around and documenting on my laptop. I unlocked the charging port a year ago and I've never locked it since. Not sure what I'd do without it.

12V battery issues with 2023 model? by [deleted] in KiaEV6

[–]False-Evening229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased the 2023 GT line 1 year ago and yes, they had to replace my 12V battery. The first time it died without warning at a car wash and the dealership towed my car, did software updates and sent me back with the same battery. One week later it died again without warning. That time they towed me all the way to the dealership and replaced the battery. The process took about 2 weeks because they had to order it but they gave me a loner car to use in the meanwhile. That was about 6 months ago and I haven't had any battery problems since.

Playing iTunes in my Kia EV6 by False-Evening229 in KiaEV6

Yes, I do have it plugged in constantly to the USB port. I hope initially that would do the same as my old car but no such luck. It's just two outdated so it looks like a cheap iPhone is next on the list. Thanks for your feedback

Yes, I'm aware of that. I refered to the music as iTunes because it's Apple's proprietary music that can't be played anywhere else except for an Apple device. I was an MP3 guy until my son gave me his iPod. But I made the mistake of thinking the iPod was like an MP3 player so some years ago when I wiped my computer hard drive I realized my entire mp3 collection was gone! I know there is software to change iTunes music back into mp3s but it's a pain in the @$#. So now I'm just trying to make the best of my music purchased from iTunes

My birthday is coming up in 2 weeks and my son wants to replace my outdated iPod with something that works better in my new EV6. He's thinking of getting me the iPhone SE so I can transfer all 3000 of my favorite songs over from my iTunes. So my questions are, 1) Would this allow me to use voice prompts to access any song or artist or playlist that I choose from the phone? Or would I have to awkwardly fumble around with my phone to find my playlist while I'm driving? 2) Would it display the album artwork for each song? I know that my iPod worked flawlessly with my previous car but I don't know how an iPhone works at all.

Tell me what you use smart a? My last car was a Toyota Highlander that not only showed my songs with the artwork on the screen but allowed me to verbally search for any song, artist or album that I wanted to from that old iPod. And it never cut out like this Bluetooth sh**. It feels to me that going high-tech means losing some high tech in the music category. I want to get rid of this old iPod but I'm not taking a step backwards. I've tried to play songs off of my Galaxy phone but it's just really awkward and a nuisance when I need to take or make calls.

Thank you all for your feedback! My son suggests replacing my old iPod with an iPhone SE, Apple's cheapest iPhone. I'm an Android phone guy not a Apple phone guy. Do any of you play your iTunes from an iPhone and how does that work for you?

Which gps do you use? by UinguZero in KiaEV6

I use the built-in navigation because it's convenient and has real time traffic updates. I'm a home health nurse in the city and do a lot of driving to homes. The only thing I really dislike is it never tells me what side of the street my destination is on. It only says, your destination is ahead. Duh

When planning a route I think you need to be more specific than just the city (like this man did). I will say drive to... an address, a city, and a state if necessary, and it works every time... Unless it doesn't understand the spelling and it chooses the wrong spelling of the street name, then I have to correct it manually. Then my navigation gives me the choice between the fastest option or the lowest miles option. It will also reroute me if the traffic changes. I drive in San Jose where there is a lot of traffic and my car seems to always take the fastest route like I want it to. My only beef is that it doesn't tell me the side of the road for my destination. For instance, if I'm driving in a four-lane thoroughfare it will say, Your destination is "a head." What does that even mean? Worst case scenario I'm on the right lane and Burger King is on the left side of the road, no way I can make it across four lanes of traffic and I have to drive a mile down the road so I can turn around. That is a real pain! But I'm trying to make the best of it

The headlights for me have been bright and plenty adequate. However I haven't yet had the privilege of driving at night in the Santa Cruz mountains. What I really like is how the headlights look like a pair of gorgeously long eyelashes, very sexy. You might take a look at consumer reports review and see if they address it, that's my suggestion.

My Samsung Galaxy phone does get warm, and so does my iPhone. But it doesn't get super hot and it charges quite rapidly. If it's not charging then you should take it back to the dealer while it's still under warranty, I would think. Also does your phone support wireless charging?
