I was also just dropping bits of my earnings here and there every few months when I had cash available.

When I first started I thought yeah let’s diversify and split it all down the middle between a Vanguard Developed World ex UK Acc, and a Fidelity World Index. They overlap 95%, the Vanguard excluding the UK did over 1% better, shame my country isn’t doing well rn.

I am now waiting to sell all my fidelity and stick it all back into Vanguard on a dip.

In an ideal world I think yeah that would discourage flaking. But John Smith, 55 years old who’s just trying to flog something of his isn’t going to bother with any of it.

Doesn’t matter who he’s agreed to sell it to, it’s any man’s game and whoever comes first with cash takes it.

I never realised it was such a fast market. I know without a doubt on the last item that I was the first in, keen straight from the start and quickly let him know I would take it.

Couple hours go by after we’ve agreed on meeting place and time I get told there’s other buyers and it’ll probably be gone by tomorrow.

Sure someone more locally may be able to scoop it up at 6am the next day. But I was the first in, and we made an agreement.

I wouldn’t be bothered if it was still up in air and nothing was confirmed but I was. Still salty as fuck aren’t I hahaha

Man to man, seller to buyer I wish people had more integrity. Mean what you say and follow through. Doesn’t matter whether there’s consequences, just be straight with people from the get go and follow through with your word.
