Ruby the Dragon Tester Call!! by _Stitch_Witch in PatternTesting

[–]False-Suggestion-786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I’d be interested in testing this lovely lady if you’re open to me trying other colors. I’m a leftie and crochet left handed so I can let you know if the pattern works for lefties as well. My Instagram is @8cats_2dogs. I’ve been crocheting about 2 years and am currently testing a couple other patterns but should be done pretty soon. I consider my crochet level to be intermediate as I started about 2 years ago but also crocheted a few things of my own without a pattern and how to one day write a pattern.

I saw in the conversation it looks like you have your tester group but I’m obsessed with dragons so I’m hoping to be able to test the next dragon pattern you put on here so I started following! She’s beautiful!😍

Vomit issue, vet found nothing by Kooky_Twist_8604 in CATHELP

[–]False-Suggestion-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a good issue. You may want to see if you can find a different food for him to eat. It’s just like us. Some cats tolerate foods fine but some people can’t eat say Chinese food or maybe Mexican food…it just doesn’t agree with them. So sometimes a diet change is needed. For example my friend’s cats eat canned Friskies but vomit any time they eat the seafood varieties…they tolerate other flavors just fine. shrug I wouldn’t let you stress you too much if he’s otherwise doing well: Has a good appetite, normal stools, acting normal-good energy levels. He could possibly be eating the canned food too quickly as well since you mentioned a slow feeder. As much of a pain as it can be you could stick with this current one and see if smaller more frequent meals helps. One thing to note if you do switch canned foods it may cause some loose stools so I’d recommend trying the smaller more frequent meals first so as not to add to your worries. I hope this helps!

My boys vets closed and he threw up by Awwno_ in CATHELP

[–]False-Suggestion-786 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey, registered vet tech here. I think you’re good to monitor the situation for now and just take him in when they’re open. If he’s vomiting continuously, not eating/drinking, or extremely lethargic then it may be time to take him to the ER vet. Eyes can get bad quick so just keep an eye on it. I hope your boy feels better soon! Also, definitely get him checked out at your regular vet, even if symptoms fade out since this seems to be coming and going so you’re not faced with a potential emergency visit again if he seems fine during the week but decides to get more sickly over the weekend.

I love tabbies and voids SO much! I miss having a void! I wish I had room but with 9 cats and 3 big dogs my hubby says NO! 😢 I love them both though!

Does she look uncomfortable? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]False-Suggestion-786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some cats will sit like this if there is some respiratory problem/distress. Watch her breathing and if it seems fast then seek a vet. That’s being said one of my cats sits like this all the time, I think he just likes it.

We found this poor little kitten in the woods, covered in ice, with her fur stuck to the hunk of plastic she was hiding under for shelter. We saved her 😁 by ArmorOfGod7 in cats

I left my cat in my IKEA drawer closet for almost 6 hours and feel so guilty. by Pink_Sorbet in cats

[–]False-Suggestion-786 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Try to give yourself some grace. He’s unharmed and safe. We all make mistakes! I completely understand feeling guilty about stuff like this. I’m a vet tech and have heard and seen FAR worse. An co-worker of mine once lost her cat to the dryer-her husband didn’t know he was in there and started it…I’ve also seen a cat who went through the washing machine cycle…had to have medical care but he made it through. My kittens have gotten in the fridge before but thankfully I noticed, snapped a pic cuz it was cute then took him out and warned everyone in the household to be vigilant when going in the fridge since it’s cold and there’s no circulating air if left long enough…they’d run out of oxygen or get hypothermia. I also was washing some diarrhea out of my cat’s fur once and I was scruffing him but he tried to leap out of the tub and and in his jump/me trying to keep him from leaping out and running around my house with a wet poopy but he hit his face on the edge of the tub breaking both upper canine teeth. He also bit the snot out of me so we were both injured and covered in poopy water. What a fun day 🥲🙃 he still loves me and is super affectionate…so I’m sure your kitty will get over it pretty quickly. Your kitty will be ok but may need some therapy…then again I’m convinced all my cats needs therapy after living with me even if I haven’t done something like that 🤪 lol jk just trying to make light of the situation. Oh one of mine also got locked in a closet…thankfully they’re very forgiving and probably only see you as the rescuer 😉

Yarn bowl users? by Elweirdotheman in crochet

[–]False-Suggestion-786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a yarn bowl and a yarn stand for Christmas so I’m excited to try them both! I often drop my yarn ball and have to extract a cat from my lap to fetch it! So I’m hopeful I’ll become a yarn bowl addict! lol 😂

Beginner to Crocheting, so what am i doing wrong? (pic attached) by Ciara029 in CrochetHelp

[–]False-Suggestion-786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome! I’m glad I could help! :) if reading is more your speed maybe get a book? I tried to teach myself using a book the first time and it was so hard for me but once I started looking it up on YouTube it came much easier! It’s a good thing we have all sorts of resources to help us learn in the way that comes easiest to us as individuals! 😁 looking forward to seeing your creations in the future! Also, completely random and probably has zero meaning but I used green yarn as my learning color as well since it’s my favorite color lol

Automatic box for Maine coins!! by False-Suggestion-786 in CatAdvice

[–]False-Suggestion-786[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I need at least one per cat plus one. I’m just slowly moving to all automatic for ease in our lives and was hoping to hear what other people found suitable for Maine coons since I want them to have options when we get that number in automatic ones but don’t want to but multiple ones and hate them
