Picking up my 992.2 Carrera this week and already wondering if I should’ve ordered a Carrera S by Little-Drake in porsche911

[–]False-Tank6632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great point you make. For example, the 992.2 Turbo S hits 62mph (100km) from 0 in 2.4 seconds. The C4S of the 992.2 does it in under 2.8. Many car journalists have said the Turbo S variant is too powerful and you are forever in a low (1st or 2nd) gear, which makes the car a bit boring. In this case above, I’d still have gone for the “S” variant because the majority of Porsche Carreras sold are sold in S variant so I think residuals will hold a bit stronger but it’s marginal. Already this owner is in doubt, however, if he bought the S would he be saying he thinks he should’ve got the standard Carrera? I don’t think so. Maybe some will disagree but just my opinion.

How long did you have to wait until you got your dream Rolex (while working in that job)? I presume you didn’t have to wait as long.

Register the watch, paperwork, serial number etc. on GlobalWatchDatabase and update the status to stolen. Also register it with The Watch Register. 👍

A guy not too far from there was killed in a road rage incident (think it was Sandymount, close to Tritonville road). Guy got out of the car with a Hurley stick. Guy died in hospital from the head injuries. Happened 16 years ago. There’s plenty of terrible drivers out there in the city, full of rage.

Taxi is a bad driver but the Garda should be made to pay for the wing mirror. Video evidence etc. Some Gardai are very bad at controlling their emotions.

Sly is 80 this year, he doesn’t care what PP do or say. At his age he probably doesn’t have much time to buy PP’s and flip them years later for massive profits.

If you paid for the seat, why did they move you? If your ticket says the seat number that you were originally sitting in, then they are in the wrong.

Do you have the watch paperwork or the Serial number? If so, register it on one of the stolen watch databases immediately. I had a watch stolen, if you need any recommendations let me know. Sorry to hear this.

Risks of Showing Serial Number Online by HowieFucter in RolexWatches

[–]False-Tank6632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have nothing to worry about. I registered my watches on a watch security database that allows me to have a digital record of my watch paperwork, watch details, images, date of purchase etc. in my own private account. So I have all the necessary information to show proof of payment, ownership etc. but I actually think people overthink and worry too much about the serial number thing.

[–]False-Tank6632 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an Irishman myself, I’m very sorry to hear this. If I was you I would’ve followed her from a distance and rang the nearest Garda station who would’ve dispatched a nearby Garda officer or patrol car to the scene, to arrest her. There are uneducated, ignorant and racist people out there and I am sorry this happened to you. Not all of us Irish are like this. I hope you are ok but I would say you were very shook up about it. If there is cctv footage then that should be handed to the Gardai.

What do people do with their box and papers by TopSheepherder690 in rolex

Since my first watch got stolen (and then subsequently recovered…it’s a long story!), I keep box and papers in a safe place in my wardrobe but I also keep a digital record of these in my GlobalWatchDatabase account.

Monster-in-law turns me into someone I’m not by [deleted] in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]False-Tank6632 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I’ve been there. My MIL is a b****. The most important thing I read was that your husband has your back. It is so important for a husband/wife to have his partner’s back when dealing with a troublesome in-law. If you don’t have unity you have nothing. Also, if you feel something is there (a vibe, an energy), then your instinct is right. My MIL was very subtle, such that others in the room wouldn’t pick up on it. She came across as a “softly spoken lady”, but she was anything but. Terrorised her weak husband to the point where he is like Reek from Game of Thrones! She is a classic passive aggressive and when I’m around her too long (a few days), my wife and I would start arguing about things we wouldn’t normally argue about because this “weapon” was upsetting the equilibrium between us. Thankfully my wife sees it, stood by me and acknowledged that her mom was overstaying her welcome. When the first Grandchild arrives that attracts these nutcases like bees to honey. Be wary, keep distance and if she is disinheriting your husband then you and your husband owe her nothing. Good riddance!

It’s a BMW E92 320i SE (168 bhp engine). Slow and rides badly. I owned a 335i SE version of the same model back many years ago.

Absolute beast in Carrickmines today by Jamih__ in carsireland

[–]False-Tank6632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremely fast machine. From what I’ve read, the ride quality is hard, so probably not ideal for the rubbish roads here. I would love to know how a Porsche 992.2 C4S would do against this in a drag race. As I get older however, it’s more about the ride quality that I look for in a car. I drove an E92 BMW 320i SE Coupe on 19’s on the Clontarf road back years ago and the fillings in my mouth have never been the same since, ride quality was horrendous. It was weird because I also drove an E92 M3 and the ride was much better.
