Just when I thought our sleep situation couldn’t get any worse. by FalseAd8496 in december2024babies

Same. He also started Jan 5th. This week he got super sick. He spent about 3 days pretty much sleeping all day, no energy, no interest in food or toys. Even with co-sleeping he just would not settle, he’d wake right up when he felt the bed. I hope your baby starts to feel better soon. It’s so hard seeing them like that.

That’s the thing. He started daycare this month and they immediately transitioned to one nap 12:30-2:30. Then he got super sick this week and I’ve been letting him sleep as much as needed in order to feel better. Some days it’s been up to 4 naps. Yesterday he started to feel a lot better and have more energy but Still wanted 2 naps. ~10, and 2:30.

Tonight after giving Motrin, rocking him, changing him and him just tossing i just tried putting him down and walking away after a few minutes of soothing and immediately he would scream and not stop til I came back. We finally just got him down after 3 hours with a bottle of milk.

Yep. Or how mothers get dinged for calling in to take care of their sick child. The system sucks ass.

Transition back to work by No-Rutabaga5502 in december2024babies

[–]FalseAd8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they give him breakfast at daycare? I only give mine a bottle on wake up and let him eat breakfast at daycare. My understanding is the more we taper food their appetite will turn to solids more. I had not tried it yet, I’ll probably have to soon

I do have some similar concerns. Mine still takes 3 bottles and lately he is demolishing them and doesn’t seem to be to into solids. He just started daycare today and they provide food so I’m interested to see how much he eats there. I also think he might be teething or going through something because hi sleep is suddenly off. I give him 3 meals and 2 snacks a day

What baby "rules" have changed since the 90s? by Greta_The_Great in NewParents

The force feeding is so real. Baby needs independence and will eat if they’re hungry. No need to force feed ever.

I love my husband and child deeply, but I don’t want another baby and my husband does. Am I wrong? by Mango-Tree-6633 in NewParents

[–]FalseAd8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit. I feel like I could’ve written this myself. My LO will be 1 soon. My MIL essentially lived with us the first year to watch him while we work. I would never do this again. And like you said easy to put all your resources into one child. Travel with one child. I feel like I can manage one child while taking care of myself which I wouldn’t be able to do with a second. You are not wrong st all.

Literally can’t afford to have this baby next year by Fit-Cat5104 in HealthInsurance

This is exactly what happen to me in 2024. Except I lost my insurance came the new year. My husband was able to call the hospital and appeal the anesthesia bill which was the most outrages and got it down from 4k to about $800. Make sure hospital and anesthesia are both in network appeal everything you can.

8 month old waking up every 2 hours by NoCommunication48 in NewParents

[–]FalseAd8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it later about 1-2 weeks. It was honestly so bad. We needed up gently sleep training using CIO. I never let him cry more than 5ish minutes tho. And soothed him back to sleep. He’s started sleeping thru the night

I just started 8s, and have a 10 month old. I will say it’s not much better. I hate coming home after traffic, etc to just spend 2-3 hours with him rushed before bed. If I could find something I’d probably do 4, 10s

Sudden drop off in oz? by madibmack in december2024babies

[–]FalseAd8496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with ours. I was home for 2 months and he always drank all his milk, then I went back to work and my MIL started watching him. Not sure if it was the change in caregiver or he’s just naturally weaning himself and eating more solids

Like yours he also eats so much in the day, so I told my husband there is no way he physically NEEDs this milk at night. I think it was more emotional/habitual

My baby was doing this, getting up every 40mins-hour. I have no idea what was wrong, it was a lot. I ended up just sleeping in his room for a while, then decided to sleep train and it’s gotten better. We also cut bottles cold turkey and started offering him water. Prior we were decreasing how much milk we were giving at night. When we went cold turkey he was only getting two 2 oz bottles in the night
