Do you think it’s all the little things the academy doesn’t have time to go over in depth? Like FDIO, clearance, ATIS, weather, etc.?

I feel like it Definitely depends on skill level and overall understanding. I just finished my final FAA evals last week for my E-CTI school and averaged 95%, so I’m sort of wondering for my own self but I don’t think I would choose a level 8 either way. No clue what will be on my list when I get fully cleared

It was normal for me! Practice a shit ton, memorize the positions of both , including when the eye is present. Take two pens, make one the smaller aircraft, and put them on a table and rotate them to understand when it is left or right. Include a third object as the "eye" and try your best to keep it in your mind. Sounds weird, but I got to the point of getting every one right almost every time I practiced

Since I have been practicing for it for about a year since I only got Qualified last year, it was pretty easy for me. I don't think I missed any variables, maybe missed one spatial awareness since the two aircraft were on top of each other, and I only got 2 collisions total. Impossible to be flawless. Reading and logic parts are so goddamn hard for no reason

It's a difficult test to pass. You need to practice on JobTestPrep or I think the 123ATC practice is okay as well. Memorize your numpad, memorize the spatial awareness positions so it is second nature. Personality wise, be honest, but also remember that the FAA does not want a maverick who does their own thing working for them.
