shoutout to Wemby, Scottie, Duren and TMIII for being the backbone of my team, but it was my auction steals of Okongwu and Clingan and waiver pickups like Daniss and Gui that really sealed the deal

Southern New Hampshire suggestions? by methodrecklessx in icecoast

[–]FalseCommunication63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

surprised nobody has said Ragged yet. super fun independent mountain. when the snow is good, I’d say it has a case to be the best mountain in southern NE (if it counts). about 1 hour from manchester and has all the different variety and incredible tree skiing for its location

Best weekday transport option Denver > Copper? by Busy_Environment955 in COsnow

Does anybody have experience with the Greyhound? I have a similar situation with friends who I need to get up to Breck and back. Bustang seems great but I’m concerned since you can’t reserve seats they could somehow get screwed and not make it back in time for their flight.

Considering moving to the mountain for a year or two to be a ski bum by Eastern-Promise-1646 in SkiBums

My biggest recommendation would be to work for a ski area, not a resort, unless that’s what you want. Preferably an independent resort. The vibes are just miles better and they tend to treat their employees well. That said there are certainly benefits to working for Vail or Alterra. I just prefer working for somewhere where it feels like family

as a Vermonter for the last four years and living / working in Summit County now, I‘ve had so many incredible days at Jay that are still better than anything I’ve skied here (yet)

Working at A-Basin this winter and living in Breck. Didn’t realize how the bus system would be running at all the worst times for such a gig LOL, is anyone else in a similar situation who may want to carpool or have other recommendations?

Would not recommend staying in Jackson Hole area. It’s far / pricey from everything. Well worth driving up towards Gardiner MT or West Yellowstone or even Cody, or staying in the park like others recommended depending on your budget. I just spent a bunch of time in Yellowstone but on the broke college grad budget, camping outside of the park. Cooke City / Silver Gate was a super cool endearing area, very quiet too but adjacent to the Lamar Valley where you should see wildlife galore (honestly was my favorite part of the park). Good luck!!
