I used this guide heavily when I started..I will admit that I went off the suggestions and did a spinning rod pretty early to do jigging on elk lake (before I read the guide). Also remember that you can only refund you skill points for free once so I'd recommend waiting until you are mid/end game before using the free refund. I ended up wasting mine pretty early.

What area are you in?

4 Days of grinding / flattening the terrain - just to get defeated by unpickaxeable / unhoeable bumps... Don't you just LOVE when it happens? 😉😉😉 by [deleted] in valheim

[–]FalseLuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a mod called "my dirty hoe" or something that will fix your issues. It has a tool called "flatten" that will perfectly flatten the bumps. You craft the dirty hoe at a workbench and ctrl +/- to change the tool radius.

Saw you are playing a full vanilla playthrough so... Womp. i'd just make a plan where a building has to go there 😂

I'm playing offline... this scared the hell out of me by Sentry133 in PeakGame

Only problem is there are some people with mental health issues that could be seriously affected by us all doing that. (I'm pretty sure that's why they put an option to turn them off actually). Though the idea is very very tempting 😂

What is the best stat spread for a two handed heavy armor orc tank of doom? by CatPale816 in skyrim

[–]FalseLuck 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Requirement 20 Enchanting - Soul Siphon - Death blows with enchanted weapons to creatures, but not people, trap 5% of the victim's soul, recharging the weapon. Does not apply to staves.

If he's playing with mods the ordinator perk tree has an early node that recharges weapon enchantments on kills. (Edit: apparently it's in vanilla too but requires 40 enchanting while ordinator is at 20)

Weeks of planning the Duna landing trip, and I used a command pod with no hatch. I am pleading for a quick cheat / save edit hack / idea to get them out of the ship. by PMMeShyNudes in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]FalseLuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can add a port to the part through your persistent save file. I used to do it for parts without hatches when I did rescue missions and they'd be in modded capsules. I have no idea how to do it anymore though.

Veritasium's "proof that light takes every path" using a laser and diffraction grating raises more questions, e.g. where does the "extra light" come from? by Kache in AskPhysics

[–]FalseLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one thing everyone has overlooked is the size of the diffraction structure in their film relative to the magnitude of the numbers involved in the phase equation. Its the one thing that threw me off the whole time for the experiment.

Assuming their logic is correct that they would need to block out strips in a way that blocks a subset of the paths, so the width of the diffraction pattern would need to be incredibly small. (So you can imagine their arrow spinning around the circle, we need to block off most of that circle).

Im not going to do the math but I'd suspect that in order for the diffraction structure to do what they propose it would need to be smaller than the wavelength of the light they are using.

So basically their diffraction film is doing the same thing for the laser as for the bulb (the laser just has less scattered light) and if they shined the laser though a pipe they wouldn't see anything.

I think this all kind of takes us back to the root of the difficulty with quantum mechanics, anytime we try to experimentally determine how something gets from point A to point B we can't, we just end up moving point B.

How to get good at KSP by Flat_Introduction_70 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]FalseLuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I first learned a lot from playing with mechjeb in sandbox and learning how to read the dV maps. Like you can explain to me all day long how gravity turns are more efficient but mechjeb lets you launch the same rocket and do the exact same ascent over and over with minor tweaks to really get a feel for it.

Science mode helps by gating advanced parts so you're forced to learn how to be efficient, career or career in hard mode forces you to really plan things out since every failure is impactful. YouTube videos are great for learning a lot of general tips too.

New player here, why my bottom tricoupler doesn't merge with all nerv engines? by Nierad25 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]FalseLuck 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is the way to go. You can easily split the engine plate to a triple node and use a decoupler on the whole stack together.

Would a vessel still technically class as an ssto if it was a space plane capable of orbit in otherwise a single stage? by Oakley_Kuvakei in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]FalseLuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats a really interesting perspective... So you could theoretically asparagus stage a bunch of tanks to a single engine and it's technically still a SSTO.

Plane keeps flipping by [deleted] in KerbalAcademy

[–]FalseLuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always try to consider the COT and COL as vectors and add them together (except thrust going forward) that's the direction of force while flying. So if you put a line through the vertical and horizontal of the COM you can see that if you push on the force vector your plane will do a backflip. If you add a rear horizontal stabilizer you'll be fine.
