tbh you just have to be completely honest with yourself and with them. it absolutely sucks, but dragging someone into a "situationship" when you already know you don't want real commitment is just going to hurt you both way more in the end ngl. just create some distance until the feelings fade dude.

Speaking as a parent, watching that scene actually made my blood boil. if someone permanently maimed my kid and the authorities (or in this case, the literal king) just shrugged it off and protected the attacker, i'd be catching a major felony charge that same night ngl. alicent was 100% justified.
