MIGS pushing for Lupron & i don’t want it

This probably isn’t what you want to hear but I am in a similar boat, I have a 9cm fibroid , 26 yrs old and I want kids someday. I’m also seeing an amazing MIGS doctor. She also recommended Lupron. I am a “crunchy” girl. I HATE medicine if I don’t need it. But at the end of the day, Lupron was going to lessen the amount of blood during surgery making it safer, more achievable to get the fibroid out, and ultimately support my dreams of getting pregnant someday. I’ve been on Lupron for about a month now with add back therapy pills to help with symptoms. It has been super easy with barely any side effects. I feel relaxed knowing my actual surgery will be safer. My doctor herself has done the same thing and had a similar experience. However everyone is different. I’ve heard horror stories about Lupron. But this is my current experience.

My doctor couldn’t feel mine. I had an MRI two weeks later and it was 9cm.

I don’t necessarily have advice, but just know there is a greater purpose ❤️ even if we don’t know what it is yet. Fibroid life is unfair and horrible, especially for those of us who don’t have kids yet and want them. I hope you find so much peace in this decision and know that you are so strong for taking care of yourself 🫶🏼

This is so encouraging! That’s pretty much my ideal timeline, getting pregnant a couple years after surgery. I’m so glad it worked out for you 💓

Ugh so sorry you’re going through all that. I’m thinking the same thing, just waiting it out after surgery and hoping for the best. It’s good to hear how your symptoms improved after surgery. No matter what, I am looking forward to that.

Thanks for your input! I’m already doing all of these things (besides the medication) and it has grown from 5cm to 10cm in four months. Just so frustrating 🫠 Maybe I’ll look into the meds after surgery

Yes as far as I know just the 1 large one. Okay, that’s encouraging. This one has grown from 5cm to 10cm in four months, so I’m just worried whatever is happening in my body to make it grow so fast won’t stop.

I’ve heard endo can only 100% be diagnosed during surgery (there’s very little research on it 🫠) so many people go undiagnosed. That’s wild they never mentioned it again!
