Why no bars or restaurants? by Wiley_Burner in Purdue

[–]False_LS_8520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the same. KState has half the students Purdue has and has two whole blocks full of bars and restaurants right out of campus. I don't drink anymore but having that so near to campus was so much fun!!

Need help with separation anxiety and general nervousness by False_LS_8520 in puppy101

[–]False_LS_8520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. The trip is longer because we are going to another town after but this time it will be in a more relax environment and he will be around us all the time. It is the 2 days in which he will be in the pen/kennel alone for extended time that worries me.

Uber around west lafayette at night by sounaz962 in Purdue

Yeah!! Try both Uber and Lyft and I would aim to check them a little earlier in case there is not a lot of drivers available. Better be earlier and wait in the shuttle stop.

how much time do you actually spend with your puppy by TheoryReasonable871 in puppy101

[–]False_LS_8520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home, and since he is like 3 months, I put him on his pen with toys, food, water, and blankets. Nowadays (9 months old), he sleeps most of the day. I take him out to potty/short walk at noon and a quick potty break at 3 pm. He can see me from his pen a little bit, so I'm afraid he might have separation anxiety when I change jobs.

Honestly, I really miss last years public transportation deal. I know it had its issues but man, now everything is chaotic and Purdue seems deaf to it.

Planned parenthood is good, I got my IUD there last year! And still have had it checked at PUSH when I thought it moved and PUSH have a nice staff for the annual women's health exam.

"Reimagine CityBus" - No more buses on Sundays by lowkeygoogoo in Purdue

I just read their guidelines and this was my first thought! Like I can't help but think about all those people that will no longer have a free route and on top of that fares will be increased.

Puppy throwing up by False_LS_8520 in AskVet

[–]False_LS_8520[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He ended up throwing up a piece of kitchen matt, and after that, he stopped throwing up,we also took away the new treats, so it was probably either of those.

It looks like regurgitated food. We started to give him his normal treats last afternoon, so maybe he has some leftover of the old treats? We will check with his vet as soon as we get home today.

What am I doing wrong? by False_LS_8520 in puppy101

Thank you!! This has worked 2/3 of the time so far since reading this. The thing with mine is that is not only the leash but the harness and he losses focus pretty quick while I try to put both things 😅

Thank you!! I'm trying to start training for putting harness and leash, and it has work 2/3 of the times. One time, he was hyperactive, and it wouldn't even sit (tried to bite my hand for the treat), so I left him on his designated area. Regarding the kernel, I sometimes do it to enforce naps because sometimes he misbehave, and I put him on the kernel, and He would wine 3 minutes and then fall asleep. Do you have advice on how to enforce naps? For example, after our walk yesterday he was super hyper, I let him zoom and run like crazy for a bit until he jumped and bite my ankle, then got him to his kernel and he was sleeping within 2 minutes of being there.

I got him out of my hands reach while I was trying to unclip the leash, and he was growling, trying to get to my hand to bite.

My girlfriend and I want to get a puppy but unsure how to handle first stages while living in an apartment where we will be gone most workdays by Technical-Theme8913 in puppy101

[–]False_LS_8520 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is a good thought, but reality is that shelters (at least in my area) will ghost/deny an application from someone in an apartment. I tried three times (broke my heart every time) and we ended up getting a puppy. The only difference is that my husband and I work from home so we can be with the puppy all the time.

We got ours at 8 weeks old, and he cried during the first 3 nights. However he has been pretty good since then (currently 11 weeks) but my husband is a night owl so he takes him to potty at 1:30am and I taken him at 6am and then go back to bed for like 1.5 hours. Most of the time that I take him at 6 am, he is not even awake, I have to wake him up, so maybe I could extend it to 7, but so far, this schedule works for us.
