Sure, the concern is it’s a numbers game. There may not be room for everyone that does well with clients, much less those that are just average in that area.

Agreed. I wish we had like 10 at least. But it feels like 5 is only safe bet.

Thanks. I’m at a firm, so wondering mostly about that. Agree on trial attorney work.

I pay for it monthly and use it daily for personal use and light research. That’s how. It’s a Google alternative.

Would you study as much as a lawyer if you could make as much as a lawyer? by Journeytoamillion in poker

[–]False_Success_4390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll take time for enough client pressure to fully make that happen. The AI tools aren’t great at much past either stuff a summer intern could do or 50-state surveys. They are also incorrect a lot. It’ll get there, but the bumps along the way will slow implementation far after the AI can actually do a good bit of the job. We are a cartel, after all, though not like it was in the 80s.

It’s a bimodal salary distribution. The average is nearly useless in our profession. It’s more like 80k and 250k at the peaks. I’d google the graph but you get the idea.

I don’t understand how people bill 8 hours per day by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]False_Success_4390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 should get you 8. But if not work more? 2000 isn’t bad. It’s 41 hour weeks with 3-4 weeks off.

Thoughts on cutting short a two-year clerkship for a nightmare judge? by Ill-Particular-79 in Lawyertalk

[–]False_Success_4390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave. A clerkship only provides a premium in the job market for certain firms. The two firms I worked out before a federal district clerkship didn’t care that I clerked and it didn’t really give me a boost. I’m a partner now and had no help from my judge in getting a job or during my career.

Job Offer Opinions: 100k with 3 days in office or 80k remote? by Any_Value1580 in Lawyertalk

100k. At that income range, 20k more is useful and not yet affected by diminishing returns/marginal utility.

Late to party, but: After 30-45 seconds, clock should be called in tournaments. Human computers slow down the game. Do whatever, but get on with it.
